"The eastwindcarrieshim away, and he is gone,For it whirlshim awayfrom his place.
"He is drivenfrom lightinto darkness,And chasedfrom the inhabitedworld.
"He fliesawaylike a dream, and they cannotfindhim; Even like a visionof the nighthe is chasedaway.
"Are they as strawbeforethe wind,And like chaffwhich the stormcarriesaway?
"You liftme up to the wind[and] cause me to ride; And You dissolveme in a storm.
"He will not returnagainto his house,Norwill his placeknowhim anymore.
Becauseof Your indignationand Your wrath,For You have liftedme up and castme away.
Upon the wickedHe will rainsnares;Fireand brimstoneand burningwindwill be the portionof their cup.
Beforeyour potscan feel[the fire of] thornsHe will sweepthem awaywith a whirlwind, the greenand the burningalike.
Sopursuethem with Your tempestAnd terrifythem with Your storm.
Like an eastwindI will scatterthem Beforethe enemy;I will showthem My backand not [My] faceIn the dayof their calamity.'"
Thoughhe flourishesamongthe reeds,An eastwindwill come,The windof the LORDcomingup from the wilderness; And his fountainwill becomedryAnd his springwill be driedup; It will plunder[his] treasuryof everypreciousarticle.
"The rainfell, and the floodscame, and the windsblewand slammed againstthat house;and it fell--and greatwas its fall."
