And showyou the secretsof wisdom!For soundwisdomhas twosides.Knowthen that Godforgetsa part of your iniquity.
"Afterallthat has comeupon us for our evildeedsand our greatguilt,sinceYou our Godhave requited[us] lessthanour iniquities[deserve], and have givenus an escapedremnantas this,
"But wouldthat Godmight speak,And openHis lipsagainstyou,
"With Him are wisdomand might;To Him belong counseland understanding.
"Are the consolationsof Godtoosmallfor you, Even the word[spoken] gentlywith you?
"For your guiltteachesyour mouth,And you choosethe languageof the crafty.
"Do you hearthe secretcounselof God,And limitwisdomto yourself?
"Is not your wickednessgreat,And your iniquitieswithoutend?
"And to manHe said,'Behold,the fearof the Lord,that is wisdom;And to departfrom evilis understanding.'"
"Behold,let me tellyou, you are not rightin this,For Godis greaterthanman.
"Wisein heartand mightyin strength,Whohas defiedHim withoutharm?
He has not dealtwith us according to our sins,Norrewardedus according to our iniquities.
The secretof the LORDis for those who fearHim, And He will make them knowHis covenant.
The LORD'Slovingkindnessesindeednevercease,For His compassionsneverfail.
"However,thereis a Godin heavenwhorevealsmysteries,and He has madeknownto KingNebuchadnezzarwhatwill takeplacein the latterdays.Thiswas your dreamand the visionsin your mind[while] on your bed.
The kingansweredDanieland said,"Surelyyour Godis a Godof godsand a Lordof kingsand a revealerof mysteries,sinceyou have beenableto revealthismystery."
[This was] to fulfillwhatwas spokenthroughthe prophet:"I WILL OPENMY MOUTHIN PARABLES;I WILL UTTERTHINGS HIDDENSINCETHE FOUNDATIONOF THE WORLD."
whichin othergenerationswas not made knownto the sonsof men,as it has nowbeen revealedto His holyapostlesand prophetsin the Spirit;
"The secretthingsbelong to the LORDour God,but the thingsrevealedbelong to us and to our sonsforever,that we may observeallthe wordsof thislaw.
