The LORDsaidto Satan,"Have you consideredMy servantJob?For thereis noonelikehim on the earth,a blamelessand uprightman,fearingGodand turningawayfrom evil."
Beforehim there was nokinglikehim whoturnedto the LORDwith allhis heartand with allhis souland with allhis might,according to allthe lawof Moses;nordid any likehim ariseafterhim.
But the formergovernorswhowere beforeme laidburdenson the peopleand tookfrom them breadand winebesidesfortyshekelsof silver;eventheir servantsdomineeredthe people.But I did not dosobecauseof the fearof God.
There was a manin the landof Uzwhose namewas Job;and that manwas blameless,upright,fearingGodand turningawayfrom evil.
"I ama joketo my friends,The one who calledon Godand He answeredhim; The just[and] blameless[man] is a joke.
Again there was a daywhen the sonsof Godcameto presentthemselves beforethe LORD,and Satanalsocameamongthem to presenthimself beforethe LORD.
The LORDsaidto Satan,"Have you consideredMy servantJob?For thereis noonelikehim on the earth,a blamelessand uprightmanfearingGodand turningawayfrom evil.And he stillholdsfasthis integrity,although you incitedMe against him to ruinhim withoutcause."
"IfHe should determineto do so, If He should gatherto Himself His spiritand His breath,
"Lo,Godwill not reject[a man of] integrity,Norwill He supportthe evildoers.
I was also blamelesswith Him, And I keptmyself from my iniquity.
Departfrom eviland dogood;Seekpeaceand pursueit.
Transgressionspeaksto the ungodlywithinhis heart;Thereis nofearof Godbeforehis eyes.
Departfrom eviland dogood,So you will abideforever.
For the LORDGodis a sunand shield;The LORDgivesgraceand glory;Nogoodthingdoes He withholdfrom those who walkuprightly.
"I have foundDavidMy servant;With My holyoilI have anointedhim,
"The fearof the LORDis to hateevil;Prideand arroganceand the evilwayAnd the pervertedmouth,I hate.
"Washyourselves, makeyourselves clean;Removethe evilof your deedsfrom My sight.Ceaseto do evil,
"Behold,My Servant,whom I uphold;My chosenone [in whom] My souldelights.I have putMy Spiritupon Him; He will bringforthjusticeto the nations.
The mansaidto me, "Sonof man,seewith your eyes,hearwith your ears,and giveattentionto allthat I am going to showyou; for you have been broughtherein orderto show[it] to you. Declareto the houseof Israelallthat you see."

"MosesMy servantis dead;nowtherefore arise,crossthisJordan,you and allthispeople,to the landwhichI am givingto them, to the sonsof Israel.
"Onlybe strongand verycourageous;be carefulto doaccording to allthe lawwhichMosesMy servantcommandedyou; do not turnfrom it to the rightor to the left,sothat you may havesuccesswhereveryou go.
