"Takea scrolland writeon it allthe wordswhichI have spokento you concerningIsraeland concerningJudah,and concerningallthe nations,from the dayI [first] spoketo you, from the daysof Josiah,even to thisday.
In Ecbatanain the fortress,whichis in the provinceof Media,a scrollwas foundand there was writtenin it as follows:"Memorandum--
"Ohthat I hadone to hearme! Behold,hereis my signature;Let the Almightyanswerme! And the indictmentwhich my adversaryhas written,
ThenI said,"Behold,I come;In the scrollof the bookit is writtenof me.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Writethisin a bookas a memorialand reciteit to Joshua,that I will utterlyblotout the memoryof Amalekfrom underheaven."
Then the LORDsaidto me, "Takefor yourself a largetabletand writeon it in ordinaryletters:Swiftis the booty,speedyis the prey.
"See,I have appointedyou thisdayoverthe nationsand overthe kingdoms,To pluckup and to breakdown,To destroyand to overthrow,To buildand to plant."
"BeforeI formedyou in the wombI knewyou, And beforeyou were bornI consecratedyou; I have appointedyou a prophetto the nations."
Then the LORDstretchedout His handand touchedmy mouth,and the LORDsaidto me, "Behold,I have putMy wordsin your mouth.
Hearthe wordof the LORD,O houseof Jacob,and allthe familiesof the houseof Israel.
"From the thirteenthyearof Josiahthe sonof Amon,kingof Judah,even to thisday,thesetwenty-threeyearsthe wordof the LORDhas cometo me, and I have spokento you againand again,but you have not listened.
"Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof Israel,Writeallthe wordswhichI have spokento you in a book.
Then allthe officialssentJehudithe sonof Nethaniah,the sonof Shelemiah,the sonof Cushi,to Baruch,saying,"Takein your handthe scrollfrom whichyou have readto the peopleand come."So Baruchthe sonof Neriahtookthe scrollin his handand wentto them.
Then Baruchsaidto them, "He dictatedallthesewordsto me, and I wrotethem with inkon the book."
When Jehudihad readthreeor fourcolumns,[the king] cutit with a scribe'sknifeand threw[it] into the firethat was in the brazier,untilallthe scrollwas consumedin the firethat was in the brazier.
"And concerningJehoiakimkingof Judahyou shall say,'Thussaysthe LORD,"You have burnedthisscroll,saying,Whyhave you writtenon it that the kingof Babylonwill certainlycomeand destroythisland,and will make manand beastto ceasefrom it?'"
"So you goand readfrom the scrollwhichyou have writtenat my dictationthe wordsof the LORDto the peoplein the LORD'Shouseon a fastday.And alsoyou shall readthem to all[the people of] Judahwho comefrom their cities.
[This] [is] the messagewhichJeremiahthe prophetspoketo Baruchthe sonof Neriah,when he had writtendownthesewordsin a bookat Jeremiah'sdictation,in the fourthyearof Jehoiakimthe sonof Josiah,kingof Judah,saying:
So Jeremiahwrotein a singlescrollallthe calamitywhichwould comeupon Babylon,[that is], allthesewordswhich have been writtenconcerningBabylon.
Then I looked,and behold,a handwas extendedto me; and lo,a scroll[was] in it.
Though I wrotefor him tenthousand[precepts] of My law,They are regardedas a strangething.
It cameabout, when Mosesfinishedwritingthe wordsof thislawin a bookuntilthey were complete,
"THENI SAID,'BEHOLD,I HAVE COME(IN THE SCROLLOF THE BOOKIT IS WRITTENOF ME) TO DOYOUR WILL,O GOD.'"
