The LORDsaid,"SurelyI will setyou freefor [purposes of] good;SurelyI will cause the enemyto makesupplicationto you In a timeof disasterand a timeof distress.
He also madethem [objects] of compassionIn the presenceof alltheir captors.
On the dayI called,You answeredme; You mademe boldwith strengthin my soul.
When a man'swaysare pleasingto the LORD,He makesevenhis enemiesto be at peacewith him.
The king'sheartis [like] channelsof waterin the handof the LORD;He turnsit whereverHe wishes.
Althougha sinnerdoesevila hundred[times] and may lengthenhis [life], stillI knowthat it will be wellfor those who fearGod,whofearHim openly.
Do not fear,for I am with you; Do not anxiously lookabout you, for I am your God.I will strengthenyou, surelyI will helpyou, SurelyI will upholdyou with My righteousrighthand.'
"Pleaseinquireof the LORDon our behalf,for Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonis warringagainstus; perhapsthe LORDwill dealwith us according to allHis wonderfulacts,so that [the enemy] will withdrawfrom us."
Now KingZedekiahsentand tookhim [out]; and in his palacethe kingsecretlyaskedhim and said,"Is therea wordfrom the LORD?"And Jeremiahsaid,"Thereis!" Then he said,"You will be giveninto the handof the kingof Babylon!"
Yet KingZedekiahsentJehucalthe sonof Shelemiah,and Zephaniahthe sonof Maaseiah,the priest,to Jeremiahthe prophet,saying,"Pleaseprayto the LORDour Godon our behalf."
Then KingZedekiahsentand had Jeremiahthe prophetbroughtto him at the thirdentrancethat is in the houseof the LORD;and the kingsaidto Jeremiah,"I am going to askyou something;do not hideanythingfrom me."
and saidto Jeremiahthe prophet,"Pleaselet our petitioncomebeforeyou, and prayfor us to the LORDyour God,[that is] for allthisremnant;becausewe are left[but] a fewout of many,as your own eyes[now] seeus,
