In the beginningGodcreatedthe heavensand the earth.
The earthwas formlessand void,and darknesswas overthe surfaceof the deep,and the Spiritof Godwas movingoverthe surfaceof the waters.
Then Godsaid,"Let Us makemanin Our image,according to Our likeness;and let them ruleover the fishof the seaand over the birdsof the skyand over the cattleand over allthe earth,and over everycreepingthingthat creepson the earth."
Godblessedthem; and Godsaidto them, "Be fruitfuland multiply,and fillthe earth,and subdueit; and ruleover the fishof the seaand over the birdsof the skyand over everylivingthingthat moveson the earth."
And GodblessedNoahand his sonsand saidto them, "Be fruitfuland multiply,and fillthe earth.
The heavensare the heavensof the LORD,But the earthHe has givento the sonsof men.
Whohas ascendedinto heavenand descended?Whohas gatheredthe windin His fists?Whohas wrappedthe watersin His garment?Whohas establishedallthe endsof the earth?Whatis His nameor His son'sname?Surelyyou know!

"It is I who madethe earth,and createdmanupon it. I stretchedout the heavenswith My handsAnd I ordainedalltheir host.
"SurelyMy handfoundedthe earth,And My righthandspreadout the heavens;When I callto them, they standtogether.
That you have forgottenthe LORDyour Maker,Who stretchedout the heavensAnd laidthe foundationsof the earth,That you fearcontinuallyalldaylong becauseof the furyof the oppressor,As he makesreadyto destroy?But whereis the furyof the oppressor?
