"Can you puta ropein his noseOr piercehis jawwith a hook?
Do not be as the horseor as the mulewhich havenounderstanding,Whose trappingsinclude bitand bridleto holdthem in check,[Otherwise] they will not comenearto you.
The nationsmadean uproar,the kingdomstottered;He raisedHis voice,the earthmelted.
Do not forgetthe voiceof Your adversaries,The uproarof those who riseagainst You which ascendscontinually.
Your adversarieshave roaredin the midstof Your meetingplace;They have setup their own standardsfor signs.
For behold,Your enemiesmakean uproar,And those who hateYou have exaltedthemselves.
So it will be that whenthe Lordhas completedallHis workon MountZionand on Jerusalem,[He will say], "I will punishthe fruitof the arrogantheartof the kingof Assyriaand the pompof his haughtiness."
His breathis like an overflowingtorrent,Which reachesto the neck,To shakethe nationsbackand forthin a sieve,And to [put] in the jawsof the peoplesthe bridlewhich leadsto ruin.
"Have I nowcomeup withoutthe LORD'Sapproval againstthislandto destroyit? The LORDsaidto me, 'Goup againstthislandand destroyit.'"'"
Then Rabshakehsaidto them, "Saynowto Hezekiah,'Thussaysthe greatking,the kingof Assyria,"Whatis thisconfidencethat you have?
"Thusyou shall sayto Hezekiahkingof Judah,Do not let your Godin whomyou trustdeceiveyou, saying,"Jerusalemwill not be giveninto the handof the kingof Assyria."
By the waythat he came,by the same he will return,and he will not cometo thiscity,'declaresthe LORD.
"Behold,I will puta spiritin him so that he will heara rumorand returnto his own land.And I will make him fallby the swordin his own land."'"
"I will puthooksin your jawsAnd make the fishof your riversclingto your scales.And I will bringyou up out of the midstof your rivers,And allthe fishof your riverswill clingto your scales.
"And you have spokenarrogantlyagainstMe and have multipliedyour wordsagainstMe; I have heard[it]."
"I will turnyou aboutand puthooksinto your jaws,and I will bringyou out, and allyour army,horsesand horsemen,allof them splendidlyattired,a greatcompany[with] bucklerand shield,allof them wieldingswords;
The LordGODhas swornby His holiness,"Behold,the daysare comingupon you When they will takeyou away with meathooks,And the lastof you with fishhooks.
When Pilatesawthat he was accomplishingnothing,but ratherthat a riotwas starting,he tookwaterand washedhis handsin frontof the crowd,saying,"I aminnocentof this Man'sblood;see[to that] yourselves."
They listenedto him up to thisstatement,and [then] they raisedtheir voicesand said,"Awaywith such a fellowfrom the earth,for he should not be allowedto live!"
and he fellto the groundand hearda voicesayingto him, "Saul,Saul,whyare you persecutingMe?"
