Now MountSinai[was] allin smokebecausethe LORDdescendedupon it in fire;and its smokeascendedlike the smokeof a furnace,and the wholemountainquakedviolently.
ThereforeI will make the heavenstremble,And the earthwill be shakenfrom its placeAt the furyof the LORDof hostsIn the dayof His burninganger.
[Men] will gointo cavesof the rocksAnd into holesof the groundBeforethe terrorof the LORDAnd the splendorof His majesty,When He arisesto makethe earthtremble.
"For justas the newheavensand the newearthWhichI makewill endurebeforeMe," declaresthe LORD,"Soyour offspringand your namewill endure.
The LORDroarsfrom ZionAnd uttersHis voicefrom Jerusalem,And the heavensand the earthtremble.But the LORDis a refugefor His peopleAnd a strongholdto the sonsof Israel.
The mountainssawYou [and] quaked;The downpourof waterssweptby. The deeputteredforthits voice,It liftedhighits hands.
"Speakto Zerubbabelgovernorof Judah,saying,I am going to shakethe heavensand the earth.
I will overthrowthe thronesof kingdomsand destroythe powerof the kingdomsof the nations;and I will overthrowthe chariotsand their riders,and the horsesand their riderswill godown,everyoneby the swordof another.'
This[expression], "Yetonce more,"denotesthe removingof thosethings which can be shaken,as of created things,sothat thosethings which cannotbe shakenmay remain.
