"The archersbitterlyattacked him, And shot[at him] and harassedhim;
When they sawhim from a distanceand beforehe camecloseto them, they plottedagainsthim to puthim to death.
and they tookhim and threwhim into the pit.Now the pitwas empty,withoutany waterin it.
Then someMidianitetraderspassedby, so they pulled[him] up and liftedJosephout of the pit,and soldhim to the Ishmaelitesfor twenty[shekels] of silver.Thus they broughtJosephinto Egypt.
His brotherssawthat their fatherlovedhim morethanallhis brothers;and [so] they hatedhim and couldnot speakto him on friendlyterms.
Then they saidto oneanother,"Trulywe are guiltyconcerningour brother,becausewe sawthe distressof his soulwhen he pleadedwith us, yet we would not listen;thereforethisdistresshas comeupon us."
"Josephis a fruitfulbough,A fruitfulboughby a spring;[Its] branchesrunovera wall.
But his bowremainedfirm,And his armswere agile,From the handsof the MightyOneof Jacob(From thereis the Shepherd,the Stoneof Israel),
You pushedme violentlyso that I was falling,But the LORDhelpedme.
Whohave sharpenedtheir tonguelike a sword.They aimedbitterspeech[as] their arrow,
"These thingsI have spokento you, sothat in Me you may havepeace.In the worldyou havetribulation,but take courage;I have overcomethe world."
strengtheningthe soulsof the disciples,encouragingthem to continuein the faith,and [saying], "Throughmanytribulationswe mustenterthe kingdomof God."
