For the sonsof Josephwere twotribes,Manassehand Ephraim,and they did not givea portionto the Levitesin the land,exceptcitiesto livein, with their pasturelandsfor their livestockand for their property.
Now to Josephin the landof Egyptwere bornManassehand Ephraim,whomAsenath,the daughterof Potiphera,priestof On,boreto him.
"And I will be a fatherto you, And you shall be sonsand daughtersto Me," Saysthe LordAlmighty.
"Nowtherefore, apportionthislandfor an inheritanceto the ninetribesand the half-tribeof Manasseh."
He predestinedus to adoption as sonsthroughJesusChristto Himself,accordingto the kind intentionof His will,
"They will be Mine," saysthe LORDof hosts,"on the daythat I prepare[My] own possession,and I will sparethem as a manspareshis own sonwho serveshim."
"Then I passedby you and sawyou, and behold,you were at the timefor love;so I spreadMy skirtoveryou and coveredyour nakedness.I also sworeto you and enteredinto a covenantwith you so that you becameMine," declaresthe LordGOD.
But now,thussaysthe LORD,your Creator,O Jacob,And He who formedyou, O Israel,"Do not fear,for I have redeemedyou; I have calledyou by name;you are Mine!
of the sonsof Joseph:of Ephraim,Elishamathe sonof Ammihud;of Manasseh,Gamalielthe sonof Pedahzur;
Thus you are to be holyto Me, for I the LORDam holy;and I have setyou apartfrom the peoplesto be Mine.
By faithJacob,as he was dying,blessedeachof the sonsof Joseph,and worshiped,[leaning] on the topof his staff.
Now it cameabout afterthesethingsthat Josephwas told,"Behold,your fatheris sick."So he tookhis twosonsManassehand Ephraimwith him.
"But your offspringthat have been bornafterthem shall be yours; they shall be calledby the namesof their brothersin their inheritance.
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"This[shall be] the boundaryby whichyou shall dividethe landfor an inheritanceamong the twelvetribesof Israel;Joseph[shall have] twoportions.
