Jacobsaid,"No,please,ifnowI have foundfavorin your sight,then takemy presentfrom my hand,for I seeyour faceas one seesthe faceof God,and you have receivedme favorably.
Then he will prayto God,and He will accepthim, That he may seeHis facewith joy,And He may restoreHis righteousnessto man.
they will seeHis face,and His name[will be] on their foreheads.
Thussaysthe LORD,"The peoplewhosurvivedthe swordFoundgracein the wilderness--Israel,when it wentto findits rest."
So Jacobnamedthe placePeniel,for [he said], "I have seenGodfaceto face,yet my lifehas been preserved."
By thisI knowthat You are pleasedwith me, Becausemy enemydoes not shoutin triumphoverme.
AbsalomansweredJoab,"Behold,I sentfor you, saying,'Comehere,that I may sendyou to the king,to say,"Whyhave I comefrom Geshur?It would be betterfor me stillto be there."'Nowtherefore, let me seethe king'sface,and ifthereis iniquityin me, let him putme to death."

Yet Davidvowedagain,saying,"Your fatherknowswellthat I have foundfavorin your sight,and he has said,'Do not let Jonathanknowthis,orhe will be grieved.'But trulyas the LORDlivesand as your soullives,there is hardly a stepbetweenme and death."
Then she fellon her face,bowingto the groundand saidto him, "Whyhave I foundfavorin your sightthat you should takenoticeof me, since I am a foreigner?"
When the daysof mourningfor him were past,Josephspoketo the householdof Pharaoh,saying,"IfnowI have foundfavorin your sight,pleasespeakto Pharaoh,saying,
When the timefor Israelto diedrewnear,he calledhis sonJosephand saidto him, "Please,ifI have foundfavorin your sight,placenowyour handundermy thighand dealwith me in kindnessand faithfulness.Pleasedo not buryme in Egypt,
"Nowbehold,your servanthas foundfavorin your sight,and you have magnifiedyour lovingkindness,whichyou have shownme by savingmy life;but I cannotescapeto the mountains,for the disasterwill overtakeme and I will die;
"Seethat you do not despiseoneof theselittle ones,for I sayto you that their angelsin heavencontinuallyseethe faceof My Fatherwho is in heaven.
Judahspoketo him, however, saying,"The mansolemnlywarnedus, 'You shall not seemy faceunlessyour brotheris with you.'
But Esausaid,"I haveplenty,my brother;let whatyou havebe your own."
"Pleasetakemy giftwhichhas been broughtto you, becauseGodhas dealtgraciouslywith me and becauseI haveplenty."Thus he urgedhim and he took[it].
