Now the twoangelscameto Sodomin the eveningas Lotwas sittingin the gateof Sodom.When Lotsaw[them], he roseto meetthem and boweddown[with his] faceto the ground.
Then the menturnedawayfrom thereand wenttoward Sodom,while Abrahamwas stillstandingbeforethe LORD.
Do not neglectto show hospitality to strangers,for by thissomehave entertainedangelswithout knowingit.
"The alienhas not lodgedoutside,[For] I have openedmy doorsto the traveler.
"It was the sameas happenedin the daysof Lot:they were eating,they were drinking,they were buying,they were selling,they were planting,they were building;
Now theseare [the records of] the generationsof Terah.Terahbecamethe fatherof Abram,Nahorand Haran;and Haranbecamethe fatherof Lot.
Then the menroseup from there,and lookeddowntowardSodom;and Abrahamwas walkingwith them to sendthem off.
And he said,"Nowbehold,my lords,pleaseturnasideinto your servant'shouse,and spendthe night,and washyour feet;then you may riseearlyand goon your way."They saidhowever, "No,but we shall spendthe nightin the square."
But the menreachedout their handsand broughtLotinto the housewith them, and shutthe door.
Those who sitin the gatetalkabout me, And I [am] the songof the drunkards.
Abramsettledin the landof Canaan,while Lotsettledin the citiesof the valley,and movedhis tentsas faras Sodom.
And Abrahambowedbeforethe peopleof the land.
Then Josephtookthem from his knees,and bowedwith his faceto the ground.
Now Boazwentup to the gateand satdownthere,and behold,the closerelativeof whomBoazspokewas passingby, so he said,"Turnaside,friend,sitdownhere."And he turnedasideand satdown.
"When I wentout to the gateof the city,When I tookmy seatin the square,
