whichis [really] not another;onlythere are somewho are disturbingyou and wantto distortthe gospelof Christ.
"Howlong?Is there[anything] in the heartsof the prophetswho prophesyfalsehood,even [these] prophetsof the deceptionof their own heart,
"For you will nolongerrememberthe oracleof the LORD,becauseeveryman'sown wordwill becomethe oracle,and you have pervertedthe wordsof the livingGod,the LORDof hosts,our God.
"For false Christsand false prophetswill ariseand will showgreatsignsand wonders,soas to mislead,ifpossible,eventhe elect.
and said,"You who are fullof alldeceitand fraud,you sonof the devil,you enemyof allrighteousness,will you not ceaseto make crookedthe straightwaysof the Lord?
"Sincewe have heardthat someof our numberto whomwe gavenoinstructionhave disturbedyou with [their] words,unsettlingyour souls,
and from amongyour own selvesmenwill arise,speakingperverse things,to draw awaythe disciplesafterthem.
For such menare false apostles,deceitfulworkers,disguisingthemselves as apostlesof Christ.
For we are not likemany,peddlingthe wordof God,but as from sincerity,but as from God,we speakin Christin the sightof God.
but we have renouncedthe things hiddenbecause of shame,not walkingin craftinessoradulteratingthe wordof God,but by the manifestationof truthcommendingourselvesto everyman'sconsciencein the sightof God.
I am amazedthat you are soquicklydesertingHim who calledyou by the graceof Christ,for a differentgospel;
But [it was] becauseof the false brethrensecretly brought in, who had sneakedin to spyout our libertywhichwe havein ChristJesus,in orderto bring us into bondage.
They eagerlyseekyou, not commendably,but they wishto shutyou out sothat you will seekthem.
I have confidencein you in the Lordthat you will adoptnootherview;but the one who is disturbingyou will bearhis judgment,whoeverhe is.
I wishthat thosewho are troublingyou would evenmutilatethemselves.
From nowon let no onecausetroublefor me, for I bearon my bodythe brand-marksof Jesus.
[men] whohave gone astrayfrom the truthsayingthat the resurrectionhas alreadytaken place,and they upsetthe faithof some.
These thingsI have writtento you concerningthosewho are trying to deceiveyou.
Beloved,do not believeeveryspirit,but testthe spiritsto see whetherthey are from God,becausemanyfalse prophetshave goneout into the world.
Ifanyonecomesto you and does not bringthisteaching,do not receivehim into [your] house,and do not givehim a greeting;
For manydeceivershave goneout into the world,thosewho do not acknowledgeJesusChrist[as] comingin the flesh.Thisis the deceiverand the antichrist.
For certainpersonshave crept in unnoticed,thosewho were longbeforehand markedout for thiscondemnation,ungodly personswho turnthe graceof our Godinto licentiousnessand denyour onlyMasterand Lord,JesusChrist.
And the greatdragonwas throwndown, the serpentof oldwho is calledthe deviland Satan,who deceivesthe wholeworld;he was throwndown to the earth,and his angelswere throwndown with him.
And he deceivesthosewho dwellon the earthbecauseof the signswhichit was givenhim to performin the presenceof the beast,tellingthosewho dwellon the earthto makean imageto the beastwhohadthe woundof the swordand has come to life.
And the beastwas seized,and with him the false prophetwho performedthe signsin his presence,by whichhe deceivedthosewho had receivedthe markof the beastand thosewho worshipedhis image;thesetwowere thrownaliveinto the lakeof firewhich burnswith brimstone.
I knowyour deedsand your toiland perseverance,and that you cannottolerateevil men,and you put to the testthosewho callthemselvesapostles,and they are not, and you foundthem [to be] false;
But I have[this] againstyou, that you toleratethe womanJezebel,who callsherselfa prophetess,and she teachesand leadsMy bond-servantsastrayso that they commit [acts of] immoralityand eatthings sacrificed to idols.
Yetthisyou do have,that you hatethe deedsof the Nicolaitans,whichI alsohate.
and he threwhim into the abyss,and shut[it] and sealed[it] overhim, sothat he would not deceivethe nationsany longer,untilthe thousandyearswere completed;afterthese thingshe mustbe releasedfor a shorttime.
