"You, Ezra,according to the wisdomof your Godwhichis in your hand,appointmagistratesand judgesthat they may judgeallthe peoplewhoare in [the province] beyondthe River,[even] allthose who knowthe lawsof your God;and you may teachanyone whois ignorant[of them].
Then Pharaohsaidto his servants,"Can we finda manlike this,in whomis a divinespirit?"
So Pharaohsaidto Joseph,"SinceGodhas informedyou of allthis,thereis nooneso discerningand wiseas you are.
When allIsraelheardof the judgmentwhichthe kinghad handeddown,they fearedthe king,for they sawthat the wisdomof Godwas in him to administerjustice.
Then the kingof Assyriacommanded,saying,"Takethereoneof the priestswhomyou carriedawayinto exileand let him goand livethere;and let him teachthem the customof the godof the land."
"Onlythe LORDgiveyou discretionand understanding,and giveyou chargeoverIsrael,so that you may keepthe lawof the LORDyour God.
Of these,24000were to overseethe workof the houseof the LORD;and 6,000[were] officersand judges,
"Arise!For [this] matteris your responsibility,but we will be with you; be courageousand act."
"Now[therefore], Tattenai,governorof [the province] beyondthe River,Shethar-bozenaiand your colleagues,the officialsof [the provinces] beyondthe River,keepawayfrom there.
For Ezrahad sethis heartto studythe lawof the LORDand to practice[it], and to teach[His] statutesand ordinancesin Israel.
"Forasmuchas you are sentby the kingand his sevencounselorsto inquireconcerningJudahand Jerusalemaccording to the lawof your Godwhichis in your hand,
While they stoodin their place,they readfrom the bookof the lawof the LORDtheir Godfor a fourthof the day;and for [another] fourththey confessedand worshipedthe LORDtheir God.
The lawof the LORDis perfect,restoringthe soul;The testimonyof the LORDis sure,makingwisethe simple.
For the LORDgiveswisdom;From His mouth[come] knowledgeand understanding.
For the commandmentis a lampand the teachingis light;And reproofsfor disciplineare the wayof life
"For the lipsof a priestshould preserveknowledge,and men should seekinstructionfrom his mouth;for he is the messengerof the LORDof hosts.
And Jesus saidto them, "Thereforeeveryscribewho has become a discipleof the kingdomof heavenis likea head of a household,whobringsout of his treasurethings newand old."
When Jesus went ashore,He sawa largecrowd,and He felt compassionfor them becausethey were likesheepwithouta shepherd;and He beganto teachthem many things.
"You shall appointfor yourself judgesand officersin allyour townswhichthe LORDyour Godis givingyou, according to your tribes,and they shall judgethe peoplewith righteousjudgment.
We proclaimHim, admonishingeverymanand teachingeverymanwith allwisdom,sothat we may presenteverymancompletein Christ.
But ifanyof you lackswisdom,let him askof God,who givesto allgenerouslyand withoutreproach,and it will be givento him.
