They madea proclamationthroughout Judahand Jerusalemto allthe exiles,that they should assembleat Jerusalem,
So allthe menof Judahand Benjaminassembledat Jerusalemwithin the threedays.It was the ninthmonthon the twentiethof the month,and allthe peoplesatin the opensquare[before] the houseof God,tremblingbecauseof this matterand the heavy rain.
"Whoeverwill not observethe lawof your Godand the lawof the king,let judgmentbe executedupon him strictly,whetherfor deathorfor banishmentorfor confiscationof goodsor for imprisonment."

He tooka yokeof oxenand cutthem in pieces,and sent[them] throughoutthe territoryof Israelby the handof messengers,saying,"Whoeverdoes not comeout afterSauland afterSamuel,soshall it be doneto his oxen."Then the dreadof the LORDfellon the people,and they cameout as oneman.
