Then the gloryof the LORDdepartedfrom the thresholdof the templeand stoodoverthe cherubim.
So He drovethe manout; and at the eastof the gardenof EdenHe stationedthe cherubimand the flamingswordwhich turnedevery direction to guardthe wayto the treeof life.
As they were goingalong and talking,behold,[there appeared] a chariotof fireand horsesof firewhich separatedthe twoof them. And Elijahwentup by a whirlwindto heaven.
He rodeupon a cheruband flew;And He spedupon the wingsof the wind.
He madedarknessHis hidingplace,His canopyaroundHim, Darknessof waters,thickcloudsof the skies.
The LORDreigns,let the peoplestremble;He is enthroned[above] the cherubim,let the earthshake!
"Be warned,O Jerusalem,OrI shall be alienatedfrom you, And makeyou a desolation,A landnot inhabited."
"You were the anointedcherubwho covers,And I placedyou [there]. You were on the holymountainof God;You walkedin the midstof the stonesof fire.
The thresholds,the latticedwindowsand the galleriesroundabouttheir threestories, oppositethe threshold,were paneledwith woodallaround,and [from] the groundto the windows(but the windowswere covered),
and behold,the gloryof the Godof Israelwas comingfrom the wayof the east.And His voicewas like the soundof manywaters;and the earthshonewith His glory.
And He saidto me, "Sonof man,doyou seewhatthey are doing,the greatabominationswhichthe houseof Israelare committinghere,so that I would be farfrom My sanctuary?But yetyou will seestillgreaterabominations."
Thoughthey bringup their children,Yet I will bereavethem until not a manis left. Yes,woeto them indeedwhen I departfrom them!
When her masterarosein the morningand openedthe doorsof the houseand wentout to goon his way,then behold,his concubinewas lyingat the doorwayof the housewith her handson the threshold.
