So the sonsof Israelstrippedthemselves of their ornaments,from MountHoreb[onward].
Now Moseswas pasturingthe flockof Jethrohis father-in-law,the priestof Midian;and he ledthe flockto the westsideof the wildernessand cameto Horeb,the mountainof God.
Then allthe peopletoreoffthe goldringswhichwere in their earsand brought[them] to Aaron.
When the peopleheardthissadword,they wentinto mourning,and noneof them puton his ornaments.
For the LORDhad saidto Moses,"Sayto the sonsof Israel,You are an obstinatepeople;should I goup in your midstfor onemoment,I would destroyyou. Nowtherefore, putoffyour ornamentsfrom you, that I may knowwhatI shall dowith you.'"
Now Mosesused to takethe tentand pitchit outsidethe camp,a gooddistancefrom the camp,and he calledit the tentof meeting.And everyonewho soughtthe LORDwould goout to the tentof meetingwhichwas outsidethe camp.
"Your own wickednesswill correctyou, And your apostasieswill reproveyou; Knowtherefore and seethat it is eviland bitterFor you to forsakethe LORDyour God,And the dreadof Me is not in you," declaresthe LordGODof hosts.
Then the peopleof Ninevehbelievedin God;and they calleda fastand puton sackclothfrom the greatestto the leastof them.
