"ThereI will meetwith you; and from abovethe mercyseat,from betweenthe twocherubimwhichare upon the arkof the testimony,I will speakto you about allthat I will giveyou in commandmentfor the sonsof Israel.
As soonas He had finishedspeakingto Abrahamthe LORDdeparted,and Abrahamreturnedto his place.
And Davidaroseand wentwith allthe peoplewhowere with him to Baale-judah,to bringup from therethe arkof Godwhichis calledby the Name,the very nameof the LORDof hostswho is enthroned[above] the cherubim.
Hezekiahprayedbeforethe LORDand said,"O LORD,the Godof Israel,who are enthroned[above] the cherubim,You are the God,You alone,of allthe kingdomsof the earth.You have madeheavenand earth.
Davidand allIsraelwentup to Baalah,[that is], to Kiriath-jearim,whichbelongs to Judah,to bringup from therethe arkof God,the LORDwho is enthroned[above] the cherubim,whereHis nameis called.
Oh, giveear,Shepherdof Israel,You who leadJosephlike a flock;You who are enthroned[above] the cherubim,shineforth!
BeforeEphraimand Benjaminand Manasseh,stirup Your powerAnd cometo saveus!
Lord,You have beenour dwellingplacein allgenerations.
The LORDreigns,let the peoplestremble;He is enthroned[above] the cherubim,let the earthshake!
You shall makean altarof earthfor Me, and you shall sacrificeon it your burntofferingsand your peaceofferings,your sheepand your oxen;in everyplacewhereI cause My nameto be remembered,I will cometo you and blessyou.
"In the tentof meeting,outsidethe veilwhichis beforethe testimony,Aaronand his sonsshall keepit in orderfrom eveningto morningbeforethe LORD;[it shall be] a perpetualstatutethroughout their generationsfor the sonsof Israel.
"You shall beatsomeof it veryfine,and putpart of it beforethe testimonyin the tentof meetingwhereI will meetwith you; it shall be mostholyto you.
"You shall putthis altar in frontof the veilthat is nearthe arkof the testimony,in frontof the mercyseatthat is over[the ark of] the testimony,whereI will meetwith you.
When He had finishedspeakingwith him upon MountSinai,He gaveMosesthe twotabletsof the testimony,tabletsof stone,writtenby the fingerof God.
"And behold,I Myselfhave appointedwith him Oholiab,the sonof Ahisamach,of the tribeof Dan;and in the heartsof allwhoare skillfulI have putskill,that they may makeallthat I have commandedyou:
"O LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,who is enthroned[above] the cherubim,You are the God,You alone,of allthe kingdomsof the earth.You have madeheavenand earth.
Then I heardone speakingto me from the house,while a manwas standingbesideme.
Then the LORDcalledto Mosesand spoketo him from the tentof meeting,saying,
The LORDsaidto Moses:"Tellyour brotherAaronthat he shall not enterat anytimeinto the holyplace insidethe veil,beforethe mercyseatwhichis on the ark,orhe will die;for I will appearin the cloudoverthe mercyseat.
"You shall then depositthem in the tentof meetingin frontof the testimony,whereI meetwith you.
Now when Moseswentinto the tentof meetingto speakwith Him, he heardthe voicespeakingto him from abovethe mercyseatthat was on the arkof the testimony,from betweenthe twocherubim,so He spoketo him.
The sonsof Israelinquiredof the LORD(for the arkof the covenantof God[was] therein thosedays,
So the peoplesentto Shiloh,and from therethey carriedthe arkof the covenantof the LORDof hostswho sits[above] the cherubim;and the twosonsof Eli,Hophniand Phinehas,[were] therewith the arkof the covenantof God.
