"I will fixyour boundaryfrom the RedSeato the seaof the Philistines,and from the wildernessto the River[Euphrates]; for I will deliverthe inhabitantsof the landinto your hand,and you will drivethem out beforeyou.
On that daythe LORDmadea covenantwith Abram,saying,"To your descendantsI have giventhisland,From the riverof Egyptas faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates:
from the nationsconcerning whichthe LORDhad saidto the sonsof Israel,"You shall not associatewith them, norshall they associatewith you, [for] they will surelyturnyour heartawayaftertheir gods."Solomonheldfastto thesein love.
Now behold,a prophetapproachedAhabkingof Israeland said,"Thussaysthe LORD,'Have you seenallthisgreatmultitude?Behold,I will deliverthem into your handtoday,and you shall knowthat I am the LORD.'"
Now Solomonruledover allthe kingdomsfrom the River[to] the landof the Philistinesand to the borderof Egypt;[they] broughttributeand servedSolomonallthe daysof his life.
For he haddominionover everythingwestof the River,from Tiphsaheven to Gaza,over allthe kingswestof the River;and he hadpeaceon allsidesaroundabouthim.
So Solomonobservedthe feastat that time,and allIsraelwith him, a greatassemblyfrom the entranceof Hamathto the brookof Egypt,beforethe LORDour God,for sevendaysand seven[more] days,[even] fourteendays.
He was the rulerover allthe kingsfrom the EuphratesRivereven to the landof the Philistines,and as faras the borderof Egypt.
May he also rulefrom seato seaAnd from the Riverto the endsof the earth.
But the LORDsaidto Moses,"Do not fearhim, for I have givenhim into your hand,and allhis peopleand his land;and you shall doto him as you didto Sihon,kingof the Amorites,wholivedat Heshbon."
"Commandthe sonsof Israeland sayto them, 'Whenyou enterthe landof Canaan,thisis the landthat shall fallto you as an inheritance,[even the] landof Canaanaccording to its borders.
Turnand setyour journey,and goto the hillcountryof the Amorites,and to alltheir neighborsin the Arabah,in the hillcountryand in the lowlandand in the Negevand by the seacoast,the landof the Canaanites,and Lebanon,as faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates.
See,I have placedthe landbeforeyou; goin and possessthe landwhichthe LORDsworeto giveto your fathers,to Abraham,to Isaac,and to Jacob,to them and their descendantsafterthem.'
"Everyplaceon whichthe soleof your foottreadsshall be yours; your borderwill be from the wildernessto Lebanon,[and] from the river,the riverEuphrates,as faras the westernsea.
"The LORDour Goddeliveredhim overto us, and we defeatedhim with his sonsand allhis people.
"From Aroerwhichis on the edgeof the valleyof Arnonand [from] the citywhichis in the valley,even to Gilead,there was nocitythat was toohighfor us; the LORDour Goddeliveredalloverto us.
"Onlyin the citiesof thesepeoplesthat the LORDyour Godis givingyou as an inheritance,you shall not leavealiveanythingthat breathes.
"But the LORDsaidto me, 'Do not fearhim, for I have deliveredhim and allhis peopleand his landinto your hand;and you shall doto him justas you didto Sihonkingof the Amorites,wholivedat Heshbon.'
by drivingout allyour enemiesfrom beforeyou, as the LORDhas spoken.
"Knowtherefore todaythat it is the LORDyour Godwho is crossingoverbeforeyou as a consumingfire.He will destroythem and He will subduethem beforeyou, so that you may drivethem out and destroythem quickly,justas the LORDhas spokento you.
"From the wildernessand thisLebanon,even as faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates,allthe landof the Hittites,and as faras the GreatSeatoward the settingof the sunwill be your territory.
but do not stay[there] yourselves;pursueyour enemiesand attackthem in the rear.Do not allowthem to entertheir cities,for the LORDyour Godhas deliveredthem into your hand."
The LORDsaidto Joshua,"Do not fearthem, for I have giventhem into your hands;not oneof them shall standbeforeyou."
"Allthe inhabitantsof the hillcountryfrom Lebanonas faras Misrephoth-maim,allthe Sidonians,I will drivethem out from beforethe sonsof Israel;onlyallotit to Israelfor an inheritanceas I have commandedyou.
They saidto Joshua,"Surelythe LORDhas givenallthe landinto our hands;moreover,allthe inhabitantsof the landhave meltedawaybeforeus."
And the LORDgavethem reston everyside,according to allthat He had swornto their fathers,and nooneof alltheir enemiesstoodbeforethem; the LORDgavealltheir enemiesinto their hand.
"Now behold,todayI am goingthe wayof allthe earth,and you knowin allyour heartsand in allyour soulsthat not onewordof allthe goodwordswhichthe LORDyour Godspokeconcerningyou has failed;allhave been fulfilledfor you, not oneof them has failed.
You crossedthe Jordanand cameto Jericho;and the citizensof Jerichofoughtagainst you, [and] the Amoriteand the Perizziteand the Canaaniteand the Hittiteand the Girgashite,the Hiviteand the Jebusite.Thus I gavethem into your hand.
Then I sentthe hornetbeforeyou and it droveout the twokingsof the Amoritesfrom beforeyou, [but] not by your swordor your bow.
"The LORDdroveout from beforeus allthe peoples,even the Amoriteswho livedin the land.We alsowill servethe LORD,for He is our God."
Then I broughtyou into the landof the Amoriteswho livedbeyondthe Jordan,and they foughtwith you; and I gavethem into your hand,and you tookpossessionof their landwhen I destroyedthem beforeyou.
Then the LORDsaidto Joshua,"Stretchout the javelinthat is in your handtowardAi,for I will giveit into your hand."So Joshuastretchedout the javelinthat was in his handtowardthe city.
"And you shall risefrom [your] ambushand takepossessionof the city,for the LORDyour Godwill deliverit into your hand.
The menof Israelsaidto the Hivites,"Perhapsyou are livingwithinour land;howthen shall we makea covenantwith you?"
Judahwentup, and the LORDgavethe Canaanitesand the Perizzitesinto their hands,and they defeatedtenthousandmenat Bezek.
The LORD,the Godof Israel,gaveSihonand allhis peopleinto the handof Israel,and they defeatedthem; so Israelpossessedallthe landof the Amorites,the inhabitantsof that country.
Then Davidinquiredof the LORDoncemore.And the LORDansweredhim and said,"Arise,godownto Keilah,for I will givethe Philistinesinto your hand."
