So Abramsaidto Lot,"Pleaselet there be nostrifebetweenyou and me, nor betweenmy herdsmenand your herdsmen,for we are brothers.
But they said,"Standaside."Furthermore, they said,"This onecamein as an alien,and alreadyhe is actinglike a judge;nowwe will treatyou worsethanthem." So they pressedhardagainst Lotand camenearto breakthe door.
Jacob'ssonscameupon the slainand lootedthe city,becausethey had defiledtheir sister.
The king'swrathis like the roaringof a lion,But his favoris like dewon the grass.
The fearof manbringsa snare,But he who trustsin the LORDwill be exalted.
"Is it not enoughthat you have broughtus up out of a landflowingwith milkand honeyto have us diein the wilderness,but you would alsolordit overus?
They assembledtogether againstMosesand Aaron,and saidto them, "You have gone farenough,for allthe congregationare holy,everyoneof them, and the LORDis in their midst;so whydo you exaltyourselves abovethe assemblyof the LORD?"
When He enteredthe temple,the chief priestsand the eldersof the peoplecameto Him while He was teaching,and said,"By whatauthorityare You doingthese things,and whogaveYou thisauthority?"
But He saidto him, "Man,whoappointedMe a judgeorarbitratoroveryou?"
"But his citizenshatedhim and senta delegationafterhim, saying,'We do not wantthis manto reignoverus.'
"But theseenemiesof mine,who did not wantme to reignoverthem, bringthem hereand slaythem in my presence."
"ThisMoseswhomthey disowned,saying,'WHOMADEYOU A RULERAND A JUDGE?'is the one whomGodsent[to be] botha rulerand a delivererwith the helpof the angelwho appearedto him in the thorn bush.
By faithhe leftEgypt,not fearingthe wrathof the king;for he endured,as seeingHim who is unseen.
