"Let them judgethe peopleat alltimes;and let it be that everymajordisputethey will bringto you, but everyminordisputethey themselves will judge.So it will be easierfor you, and they will bear[the burden] with you.
"You, Ezra,according to the wisdomof your Godwhichis in your hand,appointmagistratesand judgesthat they may judgeallthe peoplewhoare in [the province] beyondthe River,[even] allthose who knowthe lawsof your God;and you may teachanyone whois ignorant[of them].
"You will surelywearout, bothyourselfand thesepeoplewhoare with you, for the taskis tooheavyfor you; you cannotdoit alone.
"Ifyou dothisthingand God[so] commandsyou, then you will be ableto endure,and allthesepeoplealsowill goto their placein peace."

And the headsof the fathers'[households] of the familyof the sonsof Gilead,the sonof Machir,the sonof Manasseh,of the familiesof the sonsof Joseph,camenearand spokebeforeMosesand beforethe leaders,the headsof the fathers'[households] of the sonsof Israel,
For becauseof thisyou alsopaytaxes,for [rulers] are servantsof God,devoting themselvesto thisverything.
