The LORDhardenedthe heartof Pharaoh,kingof Egypt,and he chasedafterthe sonsof Israelas the sonsof Israelwere goingout boldly.
And He broughtforthHis peoplewith joy,His chosenoneswith a joyfulshout.
For Your lovingkindnesstowardme is great,And You have deliveredmy soulfrom the depthsof Sheol.
But the LORDhardenedPharaoh'sheart,and he was not willingto letthem go.
"So it shall serveas a signon your handand as phylacterieson your forehead,for with a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtus out of Egypt."
Hence Godledthe peoplearoundby the wayof the wildernessto the RedSea;and the sonsof Israelwentup in martialarrayfrom the landof Egypt.
"And it shall serveas a signto you on your hand,and as a reminderon your forehead,that the lawof the LORDmay be in your mouth;for with a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtyou out of Egypt.
"As for Me, behold,I will hardenthe heartsof the Egyptiansso that they will goin afterthem; and I will be honoredthrough Pharaohand allhis army,through his chariotsand his horsemen.
"Thus I will hardenPharaoh'sheart,and he will chaseafterthem; and I will be honoredthrough Pharaohand allhis army,and the Egyptianswill knowthat I am the LORD."And they didso.
and he tooksixhundredselectchariots,and allthe [other] chariotsof Egyptwith officersoverallof them.
"The enemysaid,'I will pursue,I will overtake,I will dividethe spoil;My desireshall be gratifiedagainst them; I will drawout my sword,my handwill destroythem.'
The LORDsaidto Moses,"When you gobackto Egyptseethat you performbeforePharaohallthe wonderswhichI have putin your power;but I will hardenhis heartso that he will not letthe peoplego.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Nowyou shall seewhatI will doto Pharaoh;for under compulsionhe will letthem go,and under compulsionhe will drivethem out of his land."
And the LORDhardenedPharaoh'sheart,and he did not listento them, justas the LORDhad spokento Moses.
You will givethem hardnessof heart,Your cursewill be on them.
I am the LORDyour God,whobroughtyou out of the landof Egyptsothat [you] would not be their slaves,and I brokethe barsof your yokeand made you walkerect.
They journeyedfrom Ramesesin the firstmonth,on the fifteenthdayof the firstmonth;on the nextdayafterthe Passoverthe sonsof Israelstartedout boldlyin the sightof allthe Egyptians,
"The Godof thispeopleIsraelchoseour fathersand madethe peoplegreatduringtheir stayin the landof Egypt,and with an upliftedarmHe ledthem out from it.
and the LORDbroughtus out of Egyptwith a mightyhandand an outstretchedarmand with greatterrorand with signsand wonders;
Had I not fearedthe provocationby the enemy,That their adversarieswould misjudge,That they would say,"Our handis triumphant,And the LORDhas not doneallthis."'
For it was of the LORDto hardentheir hearts,to meetIsraelin battlein orderthat he might utterlydestroythem, that they might receivenomercy,but that he might destroythem, justas the LORDhad commandedMoses.
I will drawout to you Sisera,the commanderof Jabin'sarmy,with his chariotsand his many[troops] to the riverKishon,and I will givehim into your hand.'"
