For I will gothroughthe landof Egypton that night,and will strikedownallthe firstbornin the landof Egypt,bothmanand beast;and against allthe godsof EgyptI will executejudgments--I am the LORD.
while the Egyptianswere buryingalltheir firstbornwhomthe LORDhad struckdownamong them. The LORDhad also executedjudgmentson their gods.
"For the LORDwill passthroughto smitethe Egyptians;and when He seesthe bloodon the linteland on the twodoorposts,the LORDwill passoverthe doorand will not allowthe destroyerto comein to your housesto smite[you].
The LORDwill be terrifyingto them, for He will starveallthe godsof the earth;and allthe coastlandsof the nationswill bowdownto Him, everyonefrom his [own] place.
"But I will sparea fewof them from the sword,the famineand the pestilencethat they may tellalltheir abominationsamong the nationswherethey go,and may knowthat I am the LORD."
"He will also shatterthe obelisksof Heliopolis,whichis in the landof Egypt;and the templesof the godsof Egypthe will burnwith fire."'"
The oracleconcerning Egypt.Behold,the LORDis ridingon a swiftcloudand is about to cometo Egypt;The idolsof Egyptwill trembleat His presence,And the heartof the Egyptianswill meltwithinthem.
I said,"You are gods,And allof you are sonsof the MostHigh.
GodtakesHis standin His own congregation;He judgesin the midstof the rulers.
Godspokefurther to Mosesand saidto him, "I am the LORD;
"And in allthe vineyards[there is] wailing,BecauseI will passthrough the midstof you," saysthe LORD.
They abandonedtheir godsthere;so Davidgavethe orderand they were burnedwith fire.
When the Ashdoditesaroseearlythe nextmorning,behold,Dagonhad fallenon his faceto the groundbeforethe arkof the LORD.So they tookDagonand sethim in his placeagain.
"You shall not curseGod,norcursea rulerof your people.
"So you shall makelikenessesof your tumorsand likenessesof your micethat ravagethe land,and you shall givegloryto the Godof Israel;perhapsHe will easeHis handfrom you, your gods,and your land.
then his mastershall bringhim to God,then he shall bringhim to the doororthe doorpost.And his mastershall piercehis earwith an awl;and he shall servehim permanently.
"NowI knowthat the LORDis greaterthanallthe gods;indeed,it was provenwhenthey dealtproudlyagainstthe people."
He smotethe firstbornof Egypt,Bothof manand beast.
"And I shall setfireto the templesof the godsof Egypt,and he will burnthem and takethem captive.So he will wraphimselfwith the landof Egyptas a shepherdwrapshimselfwith his garment,and he will departfrom theresafely.
The LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,says,"Behold,I am going to punishAmonof Thebes,and Pharaoh,and Egyptalong with her godsand her kings,even Pharaohand those who trustin him.
So the LORDdidthisthingon the nextday,and allthe livestockof Egyptdied;but of the livestockof the sonsof Israel,not onedied.
A thousandmay fallat your sideAnd tenthousandat your righthand,[But] it shall not approachyou.
For the LORDis a greatGodAnd a greatKingaboveallgods,
