Now the youngladypleasedhim and foundfavorwith him. So he quicklyprovidedher with her cosmeticsand food,gaveher sevenchoicemaidsfrom the king'spalaceand transferredher and her maidsto the bestplace in the harem.
But the LORDwas with Josephand extendedkindnessto him, and gavehim favorin the sightof the chiefjailer.
So Josephfoundfavorin his sightand becamehis personalservant;and he madehim overseeroverhis house,and allthat he ownedhe putin his charge.
and forgiveYour peoplewhohave sinnedagainst You and alltheir transgressionswhichthey have transgressedagainst You, and makethem [objects of] compassionbeforethose who have takenthem captive,that they may havecompassionon them
ThisEzrawentup from Babylon,and he was a scribeskilledin the lawof Moses,whichthe LORDGodof Israelhad given;and the kinggrantedhim allhe requestedbecause the handof the LORDhis God[was] upon him.
and a letterto Asaphthe keeperof the king'sforest,that he may giveme timberto makebeamsfor the gatesof the fortresswhichis by the temple,for the wallof the cityand for the houseto whichI will go."And the kinggranted[them] to me because the goodhandof my God[was] on me.
Now when the turnof eachyoungladycameto goin to KingAhasuerus,afterthe endof her twelvemonthsunder the regulationsfor the women--for the daysof their beautificationwere completedas follows:sixmonthswith oilof myrrhand sixmonthswith spicesand the cosmeticsfor women--
"Let the kingappointoverseersin allthe provincesof his kingdomthat they may gathereverybeautifulyoungvirginto the citadelof Susa,to the harem,into the custodyof Hegai,the king'seunuch,who is in chargeof the women;and let their cosmeticsbe given[them].
When the kingsawEstherthe queenstandingin the court,she obtainedfavorin his sight;and the kingextendedto Estherthe goldenscepterwhich[was] in his hand.So Esthercamenearand touchedthe topof the scepter.
He also madethem [objects] of compassionIn the presenceof alltheir captors.
When a man'swaysare pleasingto the LORD,He makesevenhis enemiesto be at peacewith him.
Now GodgrantedDanielfavorand compassionin the sightof the commanderof the officials,
and rescuedhim from allhis afflictions,and grantedhim favorand wisdomin the sightof Pharaoh,kingof Egypt,and he madehim governoroverEgyptand allhis household.
