I would have said,"I will cutthem to pieces,I will removethe memoryof them from men,"
The faceof the LORDis against evildoers,To cutoffthe memoryof them from the earth.
[The righteous] cry,and the LORDhearsAnd deliversthem out of alltheir troubles.
"Whyshould the Egyptiansspeak,saying,'With evil[intent] He broughtthem out to killthem in the mountainsand to destroythem from the faceof the earth?Turnfrom Your burningangerand changeYour mindabout[doing] harmto Your people.
"For My own sake,for My own sake,I will act;For howcan [My name] be profaned?And My gloryI will not giveto another.
For You are our Father,thoughAbrahamdoes not knowus And Israeldoes not recognizeus. You, O LORD,are our Father,Our Redeemerfrom of oldis Your name.
You, however, I will scatteramong the nationsand will drawout a swordafteryou, as your landbecomesdesolateand your citiesbecomewaste.
But you will perishamong the nations,and your enemies'landwill consumeyou.
and they will fallby the edgeof the sword,and will be led captiveinto allthe nations;and Jerusalemwill be trampled underfoot by the Gentilesuntilthe timesof the Gentilesare fulfilled.
"The LORDshall causeyou to be defeatedbeforeyour enemies;you will goout onewayagainstthem, but you will fleesevenwaysbeforethem, and you will be [an example of] terrorto allthe kingdomsof the earth.
"You shall becomea horror,a proverb,and a tauntamong allthe peoplewherethe LORDdrivesyou.
"Moreover, the LORDwill scatteryou among allpeoples,from one endof the earthto the other endof the earth;and thereyou shall serveothergods,woodand stone,whichyou or your fathershave not known.
"The LORDwill scatteryou among the peoples,and you will be leftfewin numberamong the nationswherethe LORDdrivesyou.
LetMe alone,that I may destroythem and blotout their namefrom underheaven;and I will makeof you a nationmightierand greaterthanthey.'
