The kingsaidto him, "Doas he has spokenand fallupon him and buryhim, that you may removefrom me and from my father'shousethe bloodwhichJoabshedwithoutcause.
Moreover,Manassehshedverymuchinnocentblooduntilhe had filledJerusalemfrom oneendto another;besideshis sinwith whichhe made Judahsin,in doingevilin the sightof the LORD.
and alsofor the innocentbloodwhichhe shed,for he filledJerusalemwith innocentblood;and the LORDwouldnot forgive.
They bandthemselves togetheragainstthe lifeof the righteousAnd condemnthe innocentto death.
Haughtyeyes,a lyingtongue,And handsthat shedinnocentblood,
Their feetrunto evil,And they hastento shedinnocentblood;Their thoughtsare thoughtsof iniquity,Devastationand destructionare in their highways.
Egyptwill becomea waste,And Edomwill becomea desolatewilderness,Becauseof the violencedone to the sonsof Judah,In whoselandthey have shedinnocentblood.
Then they calledon the LORDand said,"We earnestlypray,OLORD,do not let us perishon account of thisman'slifeand do not putinnocentbloodon us; for You, O LORD,have doneas You have pleased."
So you shall not pollutethe landin whichyou are; for bloodpollutesthe landand noexpiationcan be madefor the landfor the bloodthat is shedon it, exceptby the bloodof him who shedit.
"You shall not pityhim, but you shall purgethe bloodof the innocentfrom Israel,that it may gowellwith you.
"Then it shall be, whenyou enterthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godgivesyou as an inheritance,and you possessit and livein it,
"Now the LORDwas angrywith me on your account,and sworethat I would not crossthe Jordan,and that I would not enterthe goodlandwhichthe LORDyour Godis givingyou as an inheritance.
"For he tookhis lifein his handand struckthe Philistine,and the LORDbroughtabouta greatdeliverancefor allIsrael;you saw[it] and rejoiced.Whythen will you sinagainst innocentbloodby puttingDavidto deathwithouta cause?"
