"Moreover,he shall not multiplyhorsesfor himself, norshall he cause the peopleto returnto Egyptto multiplyhorses,since the LORDhas saidto you, 'You shall neveragainreturnthat way.'
Davidcapturedfrom him 1,700horsemenand 20,000footsoldiers;and Davidhamstrungthe chariothorses,but reserved[enough] of them for 100chariots.
Now Adonijahthe sonof Haggithexaltedhimself, saying,"I will be king."So he preparedfor himself chariotsand horsemenwith fiftymento runbeforehim.
Solomonhad 40,000stallsof horsesfor his chariots,and 12,000horsemen.

Now Solomonhad4,000stallsfor horsesand chariotsand 12,000horsemen,and he stationedthem in the chariotcitiesand with the kingin Jerusalem.
Some[boast] in chariotsand somein horses,But we will boastin the nameof the LORD,our God.
Now when Pharaohhad letthe peoplego,Goddid not leadthem by the wayof the landof the Philistines,eventhoughit was near;for Godsaid,"The peoplemightchangetheir mindswhen they seewar,and returnto Egypt."
Hence Godledthe peoplearoundby the wayof the wildernessto the RedSea;and the sonsof Israelwentup in martialarrayfrom the landof Egypt.
But Mosessaidto the people,"Do not fear!Standby and seethe salvationof the LORDwhichHe will accomplishfor you today;for the Egyptianswhomyou have seentoday,you will neverseethem againforever.
Their landhas also been filledwith silverand goldAnd thereis noendto their treasures;Their landhas also been filledwith horsesAnd thereis noendto their chariots.
The LORDhas spokento you, O remnantof Judah,"Do not gointo Egypt!"You should clearlyunderstandthat todayI have testifiedagainst you.
But he rebelledagainst him by sendinghis envoysto Egyptthat they might givehim horsesand manytroops.Will he succeed?Will he who doessuchthingsescape?Can he indeed breakthe covenantand escape?
They will not returnto the landof Egypt;But Assyria--he will be their kingBecausethey refusedto return[to Me].
"Assyriawill not saveus, We will not rideon horses;Norwill we sayagain,Our god,'To the workof our hands;For in You the orphanfindsmercy."
"It will be in that day,"declaresthe LORD,"That I will cutoffyour horsesfrom amongyou And destroyyour chariots.
"The LORDwill bringyou backto Egyptin ships,by the wayabout whichI spoketo you, 'You will neverseeit again!'And thereyou will offeryourselves for saleto your enemiesas maleand femaleslaves,but therewill be nobuyer."
He said,"Thiswill be the procedureof the kingwhowill reignoveryou: he will takeyour sonsand place[them] for himself in his chariotsand among his horsemenand they will runbeforehis chariots.
