The kingthen gaveorders,and they broughtthosemenwhohad maliciouslyaccusedDaniel,and they castthem, their childrenand their wivesinto the lions'den;and they had not reachedthe bottomof the denbeforethe lionsoverpoweredthem and crushedalltheir bones.
But the sonsof the slayershe did not putto death,according to what is writtenin the bookof the Lawof Moses,as the LORDcommanded,saying,"The fathersshall not be putto deathfor the sons,northe sonsbe putto deathfor the fathers;but eachshall be putto deathfor his own sin."
So they hangedHamanon the gallowswhichhe had preparedfor Mordecai,and the king'sangersubsided.

But when it cameto the king'sattention,he commandedby letterthat his wickedschemewhichhe had devisedagainstthe Jews,should returnon his own headand that he and his sonsshould be hangedon the gallows.
He will recompensethe evilto my foes;Destroythem in Your faithfulness.
The righteousis deliveredfrom trouble,But the wickedtakeshis place.
A false witnesswill not gounpunished,And he who tellslieswill perish.
