Then Nebuchadnezzarthe kingsent[word] to assemblethe satraps,the prefectsand the governors,the counselors,the treasurers,the judges,the magistratesand allthe rulersof the provincesto cometo the dedicationof the imagethat Nebuchadnezzarthe kinghad setup.
Jeroboaminstituteda feastin the eighthmonthon the fifteenthdayof the month,like the feastwhichis in Judah,and he wentup to the altar;thushe didin Bethel,sacrificingto the calveswhichhe had made.And he stationedin Bethelthe priestsof the highplaceswhichhe had made.
If a rulerpaysattentionto falsehood,Allhis ministers[become] wicked.
The satraps,the prefects,the governorsand the king'shighofficialsgatheredaround[and] sawin regard to thesementhat the firehadnoeffecton the bodiesof these men norwas the hairof their headsinged,norwere their trousersdamaged,norhad the smellof fire[even] comeupon them.
Thenthe satraps,the prefectsand the governors,the counselors,the treasurers,the judges,the magistratesand allthe rulersof the provinceswere assembledfor the dedicationof the imagethat Nebuchadnezzarthe kinghad setup; and they stoodbeforethe imagethat Nebuchadnezzarhad setup.
For they invitedthe peopleto the sacrificesof their gods,and the peopleateand boweddownto their gods.
with whomthe kingsof the earthcommitted [acts of] immorality,and thosewho dwellon the earthwere made drunkwith the wineof her immorality."
Now the lordsof the Philistinesassembledto offera greatsacrificeto Dagontheir god,and to rejoice,for they said,"Our godhas givenSamsonour enemyinto our hands."
