But Philipfoundhimself at Azotus,and as he passed throughhe kept preaching the gospelto allthe citiesuntilhe cameto Caesarea.
And a mongrelracewill dwellin Ashdod,And I will cutoffthe prideof the Philistines.
Now[there was] a manat CaesareanamedCornelius,a centurionof what was calledthe Italiancohort,
On the following dayhe enteredCaesarea.NowCorneliuswas waitingfor them and had called togetherhis relativesand closefriends.
"And behold,at that momentthreemenappearedat the housein whichwe were [staying], having been sentto me from Caesarea.
When Herodhad searchedfor him and had not foundhim, he examinedthe guardsand orderedthat they be led away[to execution]. Thenhe went downfrom Judeato Caesareaand was spending timethere.
When he had landedat Caesarea,he wentup and greetedthe church,and went downto Antioch.
[Some] of the disciplesfrom Caesareaalsocamewith us, takingus to Mnasonof Cyprus,a discipleof long standingwith whomwe were to lodge.
On the next daywe leftand cameto Caesarea,and enteringthe houseof Philipthe evangelist,who was one of the seven,we stayedwith him.
And he calledto him twoof the centurionsand said,"Gettwohundredsoldiersreadyby the thirdhourof the nightto proceedto Caesarea,with seventyhorsemenand two hundredspearmen."
When thesehad cometo Caesareaand deliveredthe letterto the governor,they alsopresentedPaulto him.
Festusthen,having arrivedin the province,threedayslaterwentup to Jerusalemfrom Caesarea.
Nowwhen severaldayshad elapsed,KingAgrippaand Bernicearrivedat Caesareaand paid their respectsto Festus.
Festusthenansweredthat Paulwas being kept in custodyat Caesareaand that he himselfwas aboutto leaveshortly.
After he had spentnot morethan eightortendaysamongthem, he went downto Caesarea,and on the next dayhe took his seaton the tribunaland orderedPaulto be brought.
So,when they had solemnly testifiedand spokenthe wordof the Lord,they started backto Jerusalem,and were preaching the gospelto manyvillagesof the Samaritans.
But when the brethrenlearned[of it], they brought him downto Caesareaand sent him awayto Tarsus.
in the powerof signsand wonders,in the powerof the Spirit;sothat from Jerusalemand round aboutas faras IllyricumI have fully preachedthe gospelof Christ.
There were noAnakimleftin the landof the sonsof Israel;onlyin Gaza,in Gath,and in Ashdodsome remained.
Now the Philistinestookthe arkof Godand broughtit from Ebenezerto Ashdod.
