and James,the [son] of Zebedee,and Johnthe brotherof James(to them He gavethe nameBoanerges,whichmeans,"Sonsof Thunder");
And thisthey did,sendingit in chargeof Barnabasand Saulto the elders.
And Barnabasand Saulreturnedfrom Jerusalemwhen they had fulfilledtheir mission,taking alongwith [them] John,who was also calledMark.
Nowthere were at Antioch,in the churchthat was [there], prophetsand teachers:Barnabas,and Simeonwho was calledNiger,and Luciusof Cyrene,and Manaenwho had been broughtup with Herodthe tetrarch,and Saul.
Afterthe readingof the Lawand the Prophetsthe synagogue officialssentto them, saying,"Brethren,ifyou have anywordof exhortationfor the people,sayit."
While they were ministeringto the Lordand fasting,the HolySpiritsaid,"Set apartfor Me Barnabasand Saulfor the workto whichI have calledthem."
So,being sentout by the HolySpirit,they went downto Seleuciaand from therethey sailedto Cyprus.
Allthe peoplekept silent,and they were listeningto Barnabasand Paulas they were relatingwhatsignsand wondersGodhad donethroughthem amongthe Gentiles.
And when Pauland Barnabashadgreatdissensionand debatewith them, [the brethren] determinedthat Pauland Barnabasand someothersof them should goup to Jerusalemto the apostlesand eldersconcerningthisissue.
Barnabaswantedto takeJohn,calledMark,alongwith them also.
And there occurredsuch a sharp disagreementthat they separatedfrom one another,and BarnabastookMarkwith him and sailed awayto Cyprus.
[Some] of the disciplesfrom Caesareaalsocamewith us, takingus to Mnasonof Cyprus,a discipleof long standingwith whomwe were to lodge.
When we came in sightof Cyprus,leavingit on the left,we kept sailingto Syriaand landedat Tyre;for therethe shipwas to unloadits cargo.
From therewe put out to seaand sailed under the shelterof Cyprusbecausethe windswere contrary.
But Barnabastook holdof him and broughthim to the apostlesand describedto them howhe had seenthe Lordon the road,and that He had talkedto him, and howat Damascushe had spoken out boldlyin the nameof Jesus.
But one who prophesiesspeaksto menfor edificationand exhortationand consolation.
Ordo onlyBarnabasand I not havea rightto refrainfrom working?
Thenafteran interval of fourteenyearsI wentup againto Jerusalemwith Barnabas,takingTitusalongalso.
The restof the Jewsjoined him in hypocrisy,with the resultthat evenBarnabaswas carried awayby their hypocrisy.
and recognizingthe gracethat had been givento me, Jamesand Cephasand John,who were reputedto be pillars,gaveto me and Barnabasthe right handof fellowship,sothat we [might] [go] to the Gentilesand they to the circumcised.
Aristarchus,my fellow prisoner,sends you his greetings;and [also] Barnabas'scousinMark(aboutwhomyou receivedinstructions;ifhe comesto you, welcomehim);
