And there occurreda greatuproar;and someof the scribesof the Pharisaicpartystoodup and [began] to argue heatedly,saying,"We findnothingwrongwith thisman;supposea spiritoran angelhas spokento him?"
When a man'swaysare pleasingto the LORD,He makesevenhis enemiesto be at peacewith him.
Then the officialsand allthe peoplesaidto the priestsand to the prophets,"Nodeathsentencefor thisman!For he has spokento us in the nameof the LORDour God."
When the scribesof the Phariseessawthat He was eatingwith the sinnersand taxcollectors,they saidto His disciples,"Whyis He eatingand drinkingwith tax collectorsand sinners?"
And he saidto them the third time,"Why,whatevilhas this mandone?I have foundin Him noguilt[demanding] death;thereforeI will punishHim and releaseHim."
ThenPilatesaidto the chief priestsand the crowds,"I findnoguiltin thisman."
The Phariseesand their scribes[began] grumblingat His disciples,saying,"Whydo you eatand drinkwith the tax collectorsand sinners?"
Sothe crowd[of people] who stoodby and heardit were sayingthat it had thundered;otherswere saying,"An angelhas spokento Him."
"ThereforeifGodgaveto them the samegiftas [He gave] to us alsoafter believingin the LordJesusChrist,whowas I that I couldstandin God'sway?"
"But it happenedthat as I was on my way,approachingDamascusaboutnoontime,a very brightlightsuddenlyflashedfrom heavenall aroundme,
and I fellto the groundand hearda voicesayingto me, 'Saul,Saul,whyare you persecutingMe?'
and I foundhim to be accusedoverquestionsabouttheir Law,but undernoaccusationdeservingdeathorimprisonment.
For the Sadduceessaythat there is noresurrection,noran angel,nora spirit,but the Phariseesacknowledgethem all.
"But I foundthat he had committednothingworthyof death;and since he himselfappealedto the Emperor,I decidedto sendhim.
and when they had gone aside,they [began] talkingto one another,saying,"Thismanis not doinganythingworthyof deathorimprisonment."
"For thisvery nightan angelof the Godto whomI belongand whomI servestood beforeme,
but ifit is of God,you will not be ableto overthrowthem; or elseyou may evenbe foundfighting against God."
and he fellto the groundand hearda voicesayingto him, "Saul,Saul,whyare you persecutingMe?"
Ordo we provokethe Lordto jealousy?We are not strongerthan He, are we?
He saidto them, "The LORDis witnessagainst you, and His anointedis witnessthisdaythat you have foundnothingin my hand."And they said,"[He is] witness."
He saidto David,"You are morerighteousthanI; for you have dealtwellwith me, while I have dealtwickedlywith you.
