but taking leaveof them and saying,"I will returnto you againif Godwills,"he set sailfrom Ephesus.
And He wenta littlebeyond[them], and fellon His faceand prayed,saying,"My Father,ifit is possible,let thiscuppassfrom Me; yetnot as I will,but as You will."
After bidding them farewell,He leftfor the mountainto pray.
Anotheralsosaid,"I will followYou, Lord;but firstpermitme to say good-byeto thoseat home."
that you abstainfrom things sacrificed to idolsand from bloodand from things strangledand from fornication;if you keepyourselvesfreefrom suchthings,you will dowell.Farewell."
They cameto Ephesus,and he leftthem there.Nowhe himselfenteredthe synagogueand reasonedwith the Jews.
When they askedhim to stayfor a longertime,he did not consent,
Nowa JewnamedApollos,an Alexandrianby birth,an eloquentman,cameto Ephesus;and he was mightyin the Scriptures.
It happenedthat whileApolloswas at Corinth,Paulpassed throughthe uppercountryand cameto Ephesus,and foundsomedisciples.
Thisbecameknownto all,bothJewsand Greeks,who livedin Ephesus;and fearfellupon them alland the nameof the LordJesuswas being magnified.
Nowafterthese thingswere finished,Paulpurposedin the spiritto goto Jerusalemafter he had passed throughMacedoniaand Achaia,saying,"AfterI have beenthere,I mustalsoseeRome."
For Paulhad decidedto sail pastEphesussothat he wouldnot have to spend timein Asia;for he was hurryingto be in Jerusalem,ifpossible,on the dayof Pentecost.
And since he would not be persuaded,we fell silent,remarking,"The willof the Lordbe done!"
For they had previously seenTrophimusthe Ephesianin the citywith him, and they supposedthat Paulhad broughthim into the temple.
alwaysin my prayersmaking request,ifperhapsnowat lastby the willof GodI may succeedin comingto you.
sothat I may cometo you in joyby the willof Godand find [refreshing] restin your company.
Iffrom humanmotivesI fought with wild beastsat Ephesus,whatdoes it profitme? Ifthe deadare not raised,LET US EATAND DRINK,FOR TOMORROWWE DIE.
For I do not wishto seeyou now[just] in passing;for I hopeto remainwith you for sometime,ifthe Lordpermits.
But I will remainin EphesusuntilPentecost;
But I will cometo you soon,ifthe Lordwills,and I shall findout, not the wordsof thosewho are arrogantbut their power.
Finally,brethren,rejoice,be made complete,be comforted,be like-minded,live in peace;and the Godof loveand peacewill be with you.
Paul,an apostleof ChristJesusby the willof God,To the saintswho are at Ephesusand [who are] faithfulin ChristJesus:
"Observethe monthof Abiband celebratethe Passoverto the LORDyour God,for in the monthof Abibthe LORDyour Godbroughtyou out of Egyptby night.

Instead,[you ought] to say,"Ifthe Lordwills,we will liveand alsodothisorthat."
For it is better,ifGodshould willit so, that you sufferfor doing what is rightrather thanfor doing what is wrong.
