"For they have takensomeof their daughters[as wives] for themselves and for their sons,so that the holyracehas intermingledwith the peoplesof the lands;indeed, the handsof the princesand the rulershave beenforemostin thisunfaithfulness."
In Iconiumthey enteredthe synagogueof the Jewstogether,and spokein such a mannerthat a largenumber of peoplebelieved,bothof Jewsand of Greeks.
After they had preached the gospelto that cityand had mademanydisciples,they returnedto Lystraand to Iconiumand to Antioch,
they became awareof it and fledto the citiesof Lycaonia,Lystraand Derbe,and the surrounding region;
Thenimmediatelythe brethrensentPaulout to goas faras the sea;and Silasand Timothyremainedthere.
But whenSilasand Timothycame downfrom Macedonia,Paul[began] devoting himself completelyto the word,solemnly testifyingto the Jewsthat Jesuswas the Christ.
And having sentinto Macedoniatwoof thosewho ministeredto him, Timothyand Erastus,he himselfstayedin Asiafor a while.
Timothymy fellow workergreetsyou, and [so] [do] Luciusand Jasonand Sosipater,my kinsmen.
NowifTimothycomes,seethat he is with you without cause to be afraid,for he is doingthe Lord'swork,as I alsoam.
For thisreasonI have sentto you Timothy,whois my belovedand faithfulchildin the Lord,and he will remindyou of my wayswhich are in Christ,justas I teacheverywherein everychurch.
For the unbelievinghusbandis sanctifiedthroughhis wife,and the unbelievingwifeis sanctifiedthroughher believing husband;for otherwiseyour childrenare unclean,but nowthey are holy.
