But PaulchoseSilasand left,being committedby the brethrento the graceof the Lord.
So thenthosewho were scatteredbecauseof the persecutionthat occurredin connectionwith Stephenmade their wayto Phoeniciaand Cyprusand Antioch,speakingthe wordto no oneexceptto Jewsalone.
Sayto Archippus,"Take heedto the ministrywhichyou have receivedin the Lord,that you may fulfillit."
We proclaimHim, admonishingeverymanand teachingeverymanwith allwisdom,sothat we may presenteverymancompletein Christ.
Of [this church] I was madea ministeraccordingto the stewardshipfrom Godbestowedon me for your benefit,so that I might fully carryout the [preaching of] the wordof God,
For our proud confidenceis this:the testimonyof our conscience,that in holinessand godlysincerity,not in fleshlywisdombut in the graceof God,we have conductedourselves in the world,and especiallytowardyou.
in the powerof signsand wonders,in the powerof the Spirit;sothat from Jerusalemand round aboutas faras IllyricumI have fully preachedthe gospelof Christ.
and when he had foundhim, he broughthim to Antioch.And for an entireyearthey metwith the churchand taughtconsiderablenumbers;and the discipleswere firstcalledChristiansin Antioch.
preachthe word;be readyin season[and] out of season;reprove,rebuke,exhort,with greatpatienceand instruction.
But whenCephascameto Antioch,I opposedhim to his face,becausehe stood condemned.
Sowhen they were sent away,they went downto Antioch;and having gatheredthe congregationtogether,they deliveredthe letter.
"And nowI commendyou to Godand to the wordof His grace,which is ableto build[you] up and to give[you] the inheritanceamongallthosewho are sanctified.
Thenit seemed goodto the apostlesand the elders,with the wholechurch,to choosemenfrom amongthem to sendto Antiochwith Pauland Barnabas--JudascalledBarsabbas,and Silas,leadingmenamongthe brethren,
When they had appointedeldersfor them in everychurch,having prayedwith fasting,they commendedthem to the Lordin whomthey had believed.
But there were someof them, menof Cyprusand Cyrene,whocameto Antiochand [began] speakingto the Greeksalso,preachingthe LordJesus.
Then when he arrivedand witnessedthe graceof God,he rejoicedand [began] to encouragethem allwith resoluteheartto remain[true] to the Lord;
Nowat thistimesome prophetscame downfrom Jerusalemto Antioch.
But Jewscamefrom Antiochand Iconium,and having won overthe crowds,they stonedPauland draggedhim out of the city,supposinghim to be dead.
After they had preached the gospelto that cityand had mademanydisciples,they returnedto Lystraand to Iconiumand to Antioch,
