"And I rememberedthe wordof the Lord,howHe used to say,Johnbaptizedwith water,but you will be baptizedwith the HolySpirit.'
"Turnto my reproof,Behold,I will pourout my spiriton you; I will makemy wordsknownto you.
"Then I will sprinklecleanwateron you, and you will be clean;I will cleanseyou from allyour filthinessand from allyour idols.
"It will comeabout afterthisThat I will pourout My Spiriton allmankind;And your sonsand daughterswill prophesy,Your oldmenwill dreamdreams,Your youngmenwill seevisions.
And in that dayThe mountainswill dripwith sweetwine,And the hillswill flowwith milk,And allthe brooksof Judahwill flowwith water;And a springwill goout from the houseof the LORDTo waterthe valleyof Shittim.
"As for me, I baptizeyou with waterfor repentance,but He who is comingafterme is mightierthan I, and I amnot fitto removeHis sandals;He will baptizeyou with the HolySpiritand fire.
and they were being baptizedby him in the JordanRiver,as they confessedtheir sins.
"I baptizedyou with water;but He will baptizeyou with the HolySpirit."
And they rememberedHis words,
Johnansweredand saidto them all,"As for me, I baptizeyou with water;but One is comingwho is mightierthan I, and I amnot fitto untiethe thongof His sandals;He will baptizeyou with the HolySpiritand fire.
Johnansweredthem saying,"I baptizein water,[but] amongyou standsOne whomyou do not know.
"I did not recognizeHim, but He who sentme to baptizein watersaidto me, 'He upon whomyou seethe Spiritdescendingand remainingupon Him, thisis the One who baptizesin the HolySpirit.'
"But the Helper,the HolySpirit,whomthe Fatherwill sendin My name,He will teachyou allthings,and bring to your remembranceallthat I saidto you.
"But these thingsI have spokento you, sothat whentheir hourcomes,you may rememberthat I toldyou of them. These thingsI did not sayto you at the beginning,becauseI was with you.
for Johnbaptizedwith water,but you will be baptizedwith the HolySpiritnot manydaysfrom now."
"In everythingI showedyou that by working hardin this manneryou musthelpthe weakand rememberthe wordsof the LordJesus,that He Himselfsaid,'It is moreblessedto givethanto receive.'"
For by oneSpiritwe were allbaptizedinto onebody,whetherJewsorGreeks,whetherslavesorfree,and we were allmade to drinkof oneSpirit.
