For Godhas not givenus a spiritof timidity,but of powerand loveand discipline.
For you have not receiveda spiritof slaveryleadingto fearagain,but you have receiveda spiritof adoption as sonsby whichwe cryout, "Abba!Father!"
There is nofearin love;but perfectlovecastsout fear,becausefearinvolvespunishment,and the one who fearsis not perfectedin love.
But the fruitof the Spiritis love,joy,peace,patience,kindness,goodness,faithfulness,
"PeaceI leavewith you; My peaceI giveto you; not as the worldgivesdo I giveto you. Do not let your heartbe troubled,norlet it be fearful.
"Behold,I have givenyou authorityto treadon serpentsand scorpions,and overallthe powerof the enemy,and nothingwill injureyou.
but you will receivepowerwhen the HolySpirithas comeupon you; and you shall be My witnessesbothin Jerusalem,and in allJudeaand Samaria,and evento the remotest partof the earth."
Then he saidto me, "Thisis the wordof the LORDto Zerubbabelsaying,Not by mightnorby power,but by My Spirit,'saysthe LORDof hosts.
He storesup soundwisdomfor the upright;[He is] a shieldto those who walkin integrity,
"Counselis mine and soundwisdom;I am understanding,poweris mine.
and hopedoes not disappoint,becausethe loveof Godhas been pouredout withinour heartsthroughthe HolySpiritwho was givento us.
and might freethose whothrough fearof deathwere subjectto slaveryalltheir lives.
"But I do not considermy lifeof anyaccountas dearto myself,sothat I may finishmy courseand the ministrywhichI receivedfrom the LordJesus,to testify solemnlyof the gospelof the graceof God.
and my messageand my preachingwere not in persuasivewordsof wisdom,but in demonstrationof the Spiritand of power,
"And behold,I am sending forththe promiseof My Fatherupon you; but you are to stayin the cityuntilyou are clothedwith powerfrom on high."
"[You know of] Jesusof Nazareth,howGodanointedHim with the HolySpiritand with power,and [how] He went aboutdoing goodand healingallwho were oppressedby the devil,for Godwas with Him.
On the otherhandI am filledwith power--With the Spiritof the LORD--And with justiceand courageTo makeknownto Jacobhis rebelliousact,Even to Israelhis sin.
May my heartbe blamelessin Your statutes,So that I will not be ashamed.Kaph.
Since you have in obedienceto the truthpurifiedyour soulsfor a sincerelove of the brethren,ferventlyloveone anotherfrom the heart,
ThenPaulanswered,"Whatare you doing,weepingand breakingmy heart?For I amreadynot onlyto be bound,but evento dieat Jerusalemfor the nameof the LordJesus."
and he alsoinformedus of your lovein the Spirit.
And Stephen,fullof graceand power,was performinggreatwondersand signsamongthe people.
But Saulkept increasing in strengthand confoundingthe Jewswho livedat Damascusby provingthat this[Jesus] is the Christ.
[The people] wentout to seewhat had happened;and they cameto Jesus,and foundthe manfrom whomthe demonshad goneout, sitting downat the feetof Jesus,clothedand in his right mind;and they became frightened.
But Paulsaid,"I am not out of my mind,most excellentFestus,but I utterwordsof sobertruth.
"But when he cameto his senses,he said,'How manyof my father'shired menhave more than enoughbread,but I am dyingherewith hunger!

The Spiritof the LORDwill reston Him, The spiritof wisdomand understanding,The spiritof counseland strength,The spiritof knowledgeand the fearof the LORD.
