Then Davidputgarrisonsamong the Arameansof Damascus,and the Arameansbecameservantsto David,bringingtribute.And the LORDhelpedDavidwhereverhe went.
When allthe kings,servantsof Hadadezer,sawthat they were defeatedby Israel,they madepeacewith Israeland servedthem. So the Arameansfearedto helpthe sonsof Ammonanymore.
Davidwas thenin the stronghold,while the garrisonof the Philistineswas thenin Bethlehem.
"Nowthen, do[it]! For the LORDhas spokenof David,saying,By the handof My servantDavidI will saveMy peopleIsraelfrom the handof the Philistinesand from the handof alltheir enemies.'"
Davidbecamegreaterand greater,for the LORDGodof hostswas with him.
"I have beenwith you whereveryou have goneand have cutoffallyour enemiesfrom beforeyou; and I will makeyou a greatname,like the namesof the greatmenwhoare on the earth.
He putgarrisonsin Edom.In allEdomhe putgarrisons,and allthe Edomitesbecameservantsto David.And the LORDhelpedDavidwhereverhe went.
He defeatedMoab,and measuredthem with the line,making them liedownon the ground;and he measuredtwolinesto putto deathand one fulllineto keepalive.And the Moabitesbecameservantsto David,bringingtribute.
Davidtookthe shieldsof goldwhichwere carriedby the servantsof Hadadezerand broughtthem to Jerusalem.
Now Solomonruledover allthe kingdomsfrom the River[to] the landof the Philistinesand to the borderof Egypt;[they] broughttributeand servedSolomonallthe daysof his life.
Now Moabrebelledagainst Israelafterthe deathof Ahab.

He placedtroopsin allthe fortifiedcitiesof Judah,and setgarrisonsin the landof Judahand in the citiesof EphraimwhichAsahis fatherhad captured.
"O GODthe Lord,the strengthof my salvation,You have coveredmy headin the dayof battle.
Have not You Yourself,O God,rejectedus? And will You not goforthwith our armies,O God?
The horseis preparedfor the dayof battle,But victorybelongs to the LORD.
Jonathansmotethe garrisonof the Philistinesthat was in Geba,and the Philistinesheardof [it]. Then Saulblewthe trumpetthroughoutthe land,saying,"Let the Hebrewshear."
Now the daycamethat Jonathan,the sonof Saul,saidto the youngmanwho was carryinghis armor,"Comeand let us crossoverto the Philistines'garrisonthat is on the otherside."But he did not tellhis father.
