Then Davidsaidto the messenger,"Thusyou shall sayto Joab,'Do not let thisthingdispleaseyou, for the sworddevoursoneas well as another;makeyour battleagainstthe citystrongerand overthrowit'; and [so] encouragehim."
"The richmanhada greatmanyflocksand herds.
"For we will surelydieand are like waterspilledon the groundwhichcannotbe gatheredup again. Yet Goddoes not takeaway life,but planswaysso that the banishedonewill not be castout from him.

But Zadokthe priest,Benaiahthe sonof Jehoiada,Nathanthe prophet,Shimei,Rei,and the mightymenwhobelonged to David,were not with Adonijah.
Now behold,there camea manof Godfrom Judahto Bethelby the wordof the LORD,while Jeroboamwas standingby the altarto burnincense.

But the angelof the LORDsaidto Elijahthe Tishbite,"Arise,goup to meetthe messengersof the kingof Samariaand sayto them, 'Is it becausethereis noGodin Israel[that] you are goingto inquireof Baal-zebub,the godof Ekron?'

Then Isaiahthe prophetcameto KingHezekiahand saidto him, "Whatdid thesemensay,and from wherehave they cometo you?" And Hezekiahsaid,"They have cometo me from a farcountry,from Babylon."
