Moreover,Josiahremovedthe mediumsand the spiritistsand the teraphimand the idolsand allthe abominationsthat were seenin the landof Judahand in Jerusalem,that he might confirmthe wordsof the lawwhich were writtenin the bookthat Hilkiahthe priestfoundin the houseof the LORD.
When Labanhad goneto shearhis flock,then Rachelstolethe householdidolsthat were her father's.
"BecauseManassehkingof Judahhas donetheseabominations,having donewickedlymorethanallthe Amoritesdidwho[were] beforehim, and has alsomade Judahsinwith his idols;
For he walkedin allthe waythat his fatherhad walked,and servedthe idolsthat his fatherhad servedand worshipedthem.
For he rebuiltthe highplaceswhichHezekiahhis fatherhad destroyed;and he erectedaltarsfor Baaland madean Asherah,as Ahabkingof Israelhad done,and worshipedallthe hostof heavenand servedthem.
He made his sonpassthrough the fire,practicedwitchcraftand useddivination,and dealtwith mediumsand spiritists.He didmuchevilin the sightof the LORDprovoking[Him to anger].
But in the eighteenthyearof KingJosiah,thisPassoverwas observedto the LORDin Jerusalem.
"Then the spiritof the Egyptianswill be demoralizedwithinthem; And I will confoundtheir strategy,So that they will resortto idolsand ghostsof the deadAnd to mediumsand spiritists.
For the sonsof Israelwill remainfor manydayswithoutkingor prince,withoutsacrificeor [sacred] pillarand withoutephodor householdidols.
Do not turnto mediumsor spiritists;do not seekthem out to be defiledby them. I am the LORDyour God.
Now a manora womanwho is a mediumora spiritistshall surelybe putto death.They shall be stonedwith stones,their bloodguiltinessis upon them.'"
becauseby the worksof the Lawnofleshwill be justifiedin His sight;for throughthe Law[comes] the knowledgeof sin.
But one who looks intentlyat the perfectlaw,the [law] of liberty,and abidesby it, not having becomea forgetfulhearerbut an effectualdoer,this manwill be blessedin what he does.
Outsideare the dogsand the sorcerersand the immoral personsand the murderersand the idolaters,and everyonewho lovesand practiceslying.
And the manMicahhad a shrineand he madean ephodand householdidolsand consecratedoneof his sons,that he might becomehis priest.
