So Ben-hadadlistenedto KingAsaand sentthe commandersof his armiesagainstthe citiesof Israel,and they conqueredIjon,Dan,Abel-maimand allthe storecitiesof Naphtali.
AlthoughAhaztooka portionout of the houseof the LORDand out of the palaceof the kingand of the princes,and gave[it] to the kingof Assyria,it did not helphim.
Wherefore, the LORDhis Goddeliveredhim into the handof the kingof Aram;and they defeatedhim and carriedaway from him a greatnumber of captivesand brought[them] to Damascus.And he was alsodeliveredinto the handof the kingof Israel,who inflictedhim with heavycasualties.

The oracleconcerning Damascus."Behold,Damascusis about to be removedfrom being a cityAnd will becomea fallenruin.
Elamtookup the quiverWith the chariots,infantry[and] horsemen;And Kiruncoveredthe shield.
"Truly,O LORD,the kingsof Assyriahave devastatedallthe countriesand their lands,
"For beforethe boywill know[enough] to refuseeviland choosegood,the landwhosetwokingsyou dreadwill be forsaken.
"The brickshave fallendown,But we will rebuildwith smoothstones;The sycamoreshave been cutdown,But we will replace[them] with cedars."
Therefore the LORDraisesagainstthem adversariesfrom RezinAnd spurstheir enemieson,
"Are you not as the sonsof Ethiopiato Me, O sonsof Israel?"declaresthe LORD."Have I not broughtup Israelfrom the landof Egypt,And the Philistinesfrom Caphtorand the Arameansfrom Kir?
