At that timeKingAhazsentto the kingsof Assyriafor help.
"For beforethe boywill know[enough] to refuseeviland choosegood,the landwhosetwokingsyou dreadwill be forsaken.
"Inasmuchas thesepeoplehave rejectedthe gentlyflowingwatersof ShiloahAnd rejoicein Rezinand the sonof Remaliah;
Thusit will be doneto you at Bethelbecauseof your greatwickedness.At dawnthe kingof Israelwill be completelycutoff.
Surelynowthey will say,"We havenoking,For we do not reverethe LORD.As for the king,whatcan he dofor us?"
Samariawill be cutoff[with] her kingLike a stickon the surfaceof the water.
