[I have been] on frequentjourneys,in dangersfrom rivers,dangersfrom robbers,dangersfrom [my] countrymen,dangersfrom the Gentiles,dangersin the city,dangersin the wilderness,dangerson the sea,dangersamongfalse brethren;
But when the Jewssawthe crowds,they were filledwith jealousyand [began] contradictingthe things spokenby Paul,and were blaspheming.
But the Jewsincitedthe devoutwomenof prominenceand the leading menof the city,and instigateda persecutionagainstPauland Barnabas,and drovethem out of their district.
But Jewscamefrom Antiochand Iconium,and having won overthe crowds,they stonedPauland draggedhim out of the city,supposinghim to be dead.
And whenan attemptwas madeby boththe Gentilesand the Jewswith their rulers,to mistreatand to stonethem,
But PaulchoseSilasand left,being committedby the brethrento the graceof the Lord.
But whenthe Jewsof Thessalonicafoundout that the wordof Godhad been proclaimedby Paulin Bereaalso,they camethere as well,agitatingand stirringup the crowds.
But the Jews,becoming jealousand taking alongsomewickedmenfrom the market place,formed a moband setthe cityin an uproar;and attackingthe houseof Jason,they were seekingto bringthem out to the people.
But while Galliowas proconsulof Achaia,the Jewswith one accordrose up againstPauland broughthim beforethe judgment seat,
It happenedthat whileApolloswas at Corinth,Paulpassed throughthe uppercountryand cameto Ephesus,and foundsomedisciples.
Aboutthat timethere occurrednosmalldisturbanceconcerningthe Way.
servingthe Lordwith allhumilityand with tearsand with trialswhich cameupon me throughthe plotsof the Jews;
And [there] he spentthreemonths,and when a plotwas formedagainsthim by the Jewsas he was aboutto set sailfor Syria,he decidedto returnthroughMacedonia.
And as a greatdissensionwas developing,the commanderwas afraidPaulwould be torn to piecesby them and orderedthe troopsto go downand take him away from them by force,and bringhim into the barracks.
requestinga concessionagainstPaul, that he might have him broughtto Jerusalem([at the same time], settingan ambushto killhim on the way).
The soldiers'planwas to killthe prisoners,so that none[of them] would swim awayand escape;
in the powerof signsand wonders,in the powerof the Spirit;sothat from Jerusalemand round aboutas faras IllyricumI have fully preachedthe gospelof Christ.
Whowill separateus from the loveof Christ?Will tribulation,ordistress,orpersecution,orfamine,ornakedness,orperil,orsword?
Whyare we alsoin dangereveryhour?
Iffrom humanmotivesI fought with wild beastsat Ephesus,whatdoes it profitme? Ifthe deadare not raised,LET US EATAND DRINK,FOR TOMORROWWE DIE.
In Damascusthe ethnarchunder Aretasthe kingwas guardingthe cityof the Damascenesin order to seizeme,
But [it was] becauseof the false brethrensecretly brought in, who had sneakedin to spyout our libertywhichwe havein ChristJesus,in orderto bring us into bondage.
