and therethey burnedincenseon allthe highplacesas the nations[did] whichthe LORDhad carriedawayto exilebeforethem; and they didevilthingsprovokingthe LORD.
They rejectedHis statutesand His covenantwhichHe madewith their fathersand His warningswith whichHe warnedthem. And they followedvanityand becamevain,and [went] afterthe nationswhichsurroundedthem, concerning whichthe LORDhad commandedthem not to dolike them.

But they did not listen,and Manassehseducedthem to doevilmorethanthe nationswhomthe LORDdestroyedbeforethe sonsof Israel.
Moreover, he burnedincensein the valleyof Ben-hinnomand burnedhis sonsin fire,according to the abominationsof the nationswhomthe LORDhad drivenout beforethe sonsof Israel.
He didevilin the sightof the LORDas Manassehhis fatherhad done,and Amonsacrificedto allthe carvedimageswhichhis fatherManassehhad made,and he servedthem.
Furthermore,allthe officialsof the priestsand the peoplewere veryunfaithful[following] allthe abominationsof the nations;and they defiledthe houseof the LORDwhichHe had sanctifiedin Jerusalem.
shall we againbreakYour commandmentsand intermarrywith the peopleswho commit theseabominations?Would You not be angrywith us to the pointof destruction,untilthereis noremnantnorany who escape?
"I will makethem an objectof horroramong allthe kingdomsof the earthbecauseof Manasseh,the sonof Hezekiah,the kingof Judah,for whathe didin Jerusalem.
"Thus you will knowthat I am the LORD;for you have not walkedin My statutesnorhave you executedMy ordinances,but have actedaccording to the ordinancesof the nationsaroundyou."'"
"Whenthe LORDyour Godcutsoffbeforeyou the nationswhichyou are goingin to dispossess,and you dispossessthem and dwellin their land,
"You shall not behavethustoward the LORDyour God,for everyabominableactwhichthe LORDhatesthey have donefor their gods;for they evenburntheir sonsand daughtersin the fireto their gods.
"For thosenations,whichyou shall dispossess,listento those who practicewitchcraftand to diviners,but as for you, the LORDyour Godhas not allowedyou [to do] so.
"Whenyou enterthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godgivesyou, you shall not learnto imitatethe detestablethingsof thosenations.
