So Jehoshaphatlivedin Jerusalemand wentout againamong the peoplefrom Beershebato the hillcountryof Ephraimand broughtthem backto the LORD,the Godof their fathers.
So Abrahamroseearlyin the morningand tookbreadand a skinof waterand gave[them] to Hagar,putting[them] on her shoulder,and [gave her] the boy,and senther away.And she departedand wanderedabout in the wildernessof Beersheba.
[Abraham] planteda tamarisktreeat Beersheba,and therehe calledon the nameof the LORD,the EverlastingGod.
"He will restorethe heartsof the fathersto [their] childrenand the heartsof the childrento their fathers,sothat I will not comeand smitethe landwith a curse."
"Immediatelythe one who had receivedthe fivetalentswentand tradedwith them, and gainedfivemoretalents.
"It is he who will go[as a forerunner] beforeHim in the spiritand powerof Elijah,TO TURNTHE HEARTSOF THE FATHERSBACKTO THE CHILDREN,and the disobedientto the attitudeof the righteous,so as to make readya peoplepreparedfor the Lord."
Joshuasaidto them, "Ifyou are a numerouspeople,goup to the forestand cleara place for yourself therein the landof the Perizzitesand of the Rephaim,sincethe hillcountryof Ephraimis too narrowfor you."
Now it cameabout in thosedays,when therewas nokingin Israel,that there was a certainLevitestayingin the remotepartof the hillcountryof Ephraim,who tooka concubinefor himself from Bethlehemin Judah.
Then allthe sonsof Israelfrom Danto Beersheba,including the landof Gilead,cameout, and the congregationassembledas onemanto the LORDat Mizpah.
