When allIsrael[saw] that the kingdid not listento them the peopleansweredthe king,saying,"Whatportiondo we have in David?[We have] noinheritancein the sonof Jesse.Everymanto your tents,O Israel;Nowlookafter your own house,David."So allIsraeldepartedto their tents.
Then a messengercameto David,saying,"The heartsof the menof Israelare with Absalom."
Then Davidsaidto Abishaiand to allhis servants,"Behold,my sonwhocameout from me seeksmy life;howmuchmorenowthis Benjamite?Lethim aloneand let him curse,for the LORDhas toldhim.
Now a worthlessfellowhappenedto be therewhose namewas Sheba,the sonof Bichri,a Benjamite;and he blewthe trumpetand said,"We havenoportionin David,Nordo we have inheritancein the sonof Jesse;Everymanto his tents,O Israel!"
"However,I will not tearawayallthe kingdom,[but] I will giveonetribeto your sonfor the sakeof My servantDavidand for the sakeof JerusalemwhichI have chosen."
"But I will settlehim in My houseand in My kingdomforever,and his throneshall be establishedforever."'"
But as for the sonsof Israelwho livedin the citiesof Judah,Rehoboamreignedoverthem.
So Israelhas beenin rebellionagainst the houseof Davidto thisday.
"ThereI will cause the hornof Davidto springforth;I have prepareda lampfor Mine anointed.
For the wrathof manshall praiseYou; With a remnantof wrathYou will girdYourself.
Then a shootwill springfrom the stemof Jesse,And a branchfrom his rootswill bearfruit.
"In that dayI will raiseup the fallenboothof David,And wallup its breaches;I will also raiseup its ruinsAnd rebuildit as in the daysof old;
"But his citizenshatedhim and senta delegationafterhim, saying,'We do not wantthis manto reignoverus.'
"But theseenemiesof mine,who did not wantme to reignoverthem, bringthem hereand slaythem in my presence."
As a resultof thismanyof His discipleswithdrewand were not walkingwith Him anymore.
[Everyonewentto his home.
"And so,because he was a prophetand knewthat GODHAD SWORNTO HIM WITH AN OATHTO SEAT[one] OF HIS DESCENDANTSON HIS THRONE,
For He mustreignuntilHe has putallHis enemiesunderHis feet.
"I, Jesus,have sentMy angelto testifyto you these thingsfor the churches.I amthe rootand the descendantof David,the brightmorningstar."
nordid they showkindnessto the householdof Jerubbaal([that is], Gideon)in accord with allthe goodthat he had doneto Israel.
It cameabout the nextday,the second[day] of the newmoon,that David'splacewas empty;so Saulsaidto Jonathanhis son,"Whyhas the sonof Jessenot cometo the meal,eitheryesterdayortoday?"
Saulthen saidto him, "Whyhave you and the sonof Jesseconspiredagainstme, in that you have givenhim breadand a swordand have inquiredof Godfor him, so that he would riseup againstme by lyingin ambushas [it is] thisday?"
Saulsaidto his servantswho stoodaroundhim, "Hearnow,O Benjamites!Will the sonof Jessealsogiveto allof you fieldsand vineyards?Will he makeyou allcommandersof thousandsand commandersof hundreds?
Then Doegthe Edomite,whowas standingby the servantsof Saul,said,"I sawthe sonof Jessecomingto Nob,to Ahimelechthe sonof Ahitub.
