Seethat noonerepaysanotherwith evilfor evil,but alwaysseek afterthat which is goodfor one anotherand for all people.
So he senthis brothersaway,and as they departed,he saidto them, "Do not quarrelon the journey."
And those who repayevilfor good,They opposeme, becauseI followwhatis good.
IfI have rewardedevilto my friend,Or have plunderedhim who withoutcausewas my adversary,
He who returnsevilfor good,Evilwill not departfrom his house.
Do not say,"I will repayevil";Waitfor the LORD,and He will saveyou.
Do not rejoicewhen your enemyfalls,And do not let your heartbe gladwhen he stumbles;
Donot say,"ThusI shall doto him as he has doneto me; I will renderto the manaccording to his work."
Ifyour enemyis hungry,givehim foodto eat;And ifhe is thirsty,givehim waterto drink;
You shall not takevengeance,norbearany grudgeagainstthe sonsof your people,but you shall loveyour neighboras yourself; I am the LORD.
"But I sayto you, do not resistan evilperson; but whoeverslapsyou on your rightcheek,turnthe otherto him also.
"But loveyour enemies,and do good,and lend,expectingnothingin return;and your rewardwill be great,and you will be sonsof the Most High;for He Himselfis kindto ungratefuland evil[men].
But Paulcriedout with a loudvoice,saying,"Donot harmyourself,for we are allhere!"
[Let] love[be] without hypocrisy.Abhorwhat is evil;clingto what is good.
So thenwe pursuethe things which make for peaceand the buildingup of one another.
Pursuelove,yetdesire earnestlyspiritual[gifts], but especiallythat you may prophesy.
NowifTimothycomes,seethat he is with you without cause to be afraid,for he is doingthe Lord'swork,as I alsoam.
Actually,then,it is alreadya defeatfor you, that you havelawsuitswith one another.Whynot ratherbe wronged?Whynot ratherbe defrauded?
So then,whilewe haveopportunity,let us dogoodto all people,and especiallyto thosewho are of the householdof the faith.
Thereforebe carefulhowyou walk,not as unwise menbut as wise,
Nevertheless,eachindividualamong you alsois to lovehis ownwifeeven as himself,and the wifemust [see to it] that she respectsher husband.
"Justice,[and only] justice,you shall pursue,that you may liveand possessthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godis givingyou.
sothat you would walkin a manner worthyof the Godwho callsyou into His ownkingdomand glory.
But examineeverything[carefully]; hold fastto that which is good;
But fleefrom these things,you manof God,and pursuerighteousness,godliness,faith,love,perseverance[and] gentleness.
The Lord'sbond-servantmustnot be quarrelsome,but be kindto all,able to teach,patient when wronged,
to malignno one,to be peaceable,gentle,showingeveryconsiderationfor allmen.
Pursuepeacewith all men,and the sanctificationwithoutwhichno onewill seethe Lord.
Since you have in obedienceto the truthpurifiedyour soulsfor a sincerelove of the brethren,ferventlyloveone anotherfrom the heart,
Honorall people,lovethe brotherhood,fearGod,honorthe king.
not returningevilfor evilorinsultfor insult,but giving a blessinginstead;for you were calledfor the verypurpose that you might inherita blessing.
Beloved,do not imitatewhat is evil,but what is good.The one who does goodis of God;the one who does evilhas not seenGod.
ThenI fellat his feetto worshiphim. But he saidto me, "Do not dothat; I ama fellow servantof yoursand your brethrenwho holdthe testimonyof Jesus;worshipGod.For the testimonyof Jesusis the spiritof prophecy."
But he saidto me, "Do not dothat. I ama fellow servantof yoursand of your brethrenthe prophetsand of thosewho heedthe wordsof thisbook.WorshipGod."
"As the proverbof the ancientssays,Out of the wickedcomesforthwickedness;but my handshall not be against you.
