"Whythen do you hardenyour heartsas the Egyptiansand Pharaohhardenedtheir hearts?WhenHe had severelydealtwith them, did they not allow the people to go,and they departed?
"Wisein heartand mightyin strength,Whohas defiedHim withoutharm?
Do not hardenyour hearts,as at Meribah,As in the dayof Massahin the wilderness,
Mosesand Aaronwentto Pharaohand saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof the Hebrews,'Howlongwill you refuseto humbleyourself beforeMe? LetMy peoplego, that they may serveMe.
"As for Me, behold,I will hardenthe heartsof the Egyptiansso that they will goin afterthem; and I will be honoredthrough Pharaohand allhis army, through his chariotsand his horsemen.
Then the Egyptianstookup the pursuit, and allPharaoh'shorses, his chariotsand his horsemenwentin afterthem into the midstof the sea.
The LORDsaidto Moses,"When you gobackto Egyptseethat you performbeforePharaohallthe wonderswhichI have putin your power;but I will hardenhis heartso that he will not letthe peoplego.
Yet Pharaoh'sheartwas hardened, and he did not listento them, as the LORDhad said.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Pharaoh'sheartis stubborn;he refusesto letthe peoplego.
But when Pharaohsawthat there was relief,he hardenedhis heartand did not listento them, as the LORDhad said.
But Pharaohhardenedhis heartthistimealso, and he did not letthe peoplego.
"But, indeed, for thisreasonI have allowed you to remain,in orderto showyou My powerand in orderto proclaimMy namethrough allthe earth.
But when Pharaohsawthat the rainand the hailand the thunderhad ceased,he sinnedagainand hardenedhis heart,he and his servants.
But becauseof your stubbornnessand unrepentantheartyou are storingup wrathfor yourselfin the dayof wrathand revelationof the righteous judgmentof God,
But encourageone anotherdayafterday,as longas it is [still] called"Today,"sothat noneof you will be hardenedby the deceitfulnessof sin.
