Now Samuelwas dead,and allIsraelhad lamentedhim and buriedhim in Ramah,his own city.And Saulhad removedfrom the landthose who were mediumsand spiritists.
"Ifher fatherabsolutelyrefusesto giveher to him, he shall paymoneyequal to the dowryfor virgins.
"You shall not allow a sorceressto live.
Do not turnto mediumsor spiritists;do not seekthem out to be defiledby them. I am the LORDyour God.
Now a manora womanwho is a mediumora spiritistshall surelybe putto death.They shall be stonedwith stones,their bloodguiltinessis upon them.'"
As for the personwhoturnsto mediumsand to spiritists,to playthe harlotafterthem, I will also setMy faceagainst that personand will cuthim offfrom amonghis people.
"For rebellionis as the sinof divination,And insubordinationis as iniquityand idolatry.Becauseyou have rejectedthe wordof the LORD,He has also rejectedyou from [being] king."
Then Samueldied;and allIsraelgatheredtogether and mournedfor him, and buriedhim at his housein Ramah.And Davidaroseand wentdownto the wildernessof Paran.
But the womansaidto him, "Behold,you knowwhatSaulhas done,howhe has cutoffthose who are mediumsand spiritistsfrom the land.Whyare you then layinga snarefor my lifeto bringabout my death?"
Then his return[was] to Ramah,for his house[was] there,and therehe judgedIsrael;and he builttherean altarto the LORD.
