Then Samuelsaidto Saul,"Whyhave you disturbedme by bringingme up?" And Saulanswered,"I am greatlydistressed;for the Philistinesare wagingwaragainst me, and Godhas departedfrom me and nolongeranswersme, eitherthroughprophetsorby dreams;therefore I have calledyou, that you may makeknownto me whatI should do."
Do not castme awayfrom Your presenceAnd do not takeYour HolySpiritfrom me.
The backsliderin heartwill havehis fillof his own ways,But a goodmanwill [be satisfied] with his.
Thoughthey bringup their children,Yet I will bereavethem until not a manis left. Yes,woeto them indeedwhen I departfrom them!
"ThenHe will alsosayto thoseon His left,Departfrom Me, accursedones, into the eternalfirewhich has been preparedfor the deviland his angels;
She said,"The Philistinesare upon you, Samson!"And he awokefrom his sleepand said,"I will goout as at othertimesand shakemyself free."But he did not knowthat the LORDhad departedfrom him.
Now Saulwas afraidof David,for the LORDwas with him but had departedfrom Saul.
So Davidinquiredof the LORD,saying,"Shall I goand attackthesePhilistines?"And the LORDsaidto David,"Goand attackthe Philistinesand deliverKeilah."
Then Davidinquiredof the LORDoncemore.And the LORDansweredhim and said,"Arise,godownto Keilah,for I will givethe Philistinesinto your hand."
Then the womansaid,"Whomshall I bringup for you?" And he said,"Bringup Samuelfor me."
Samuelsaid,"Whythen do you askme, since the LORDhas departedfrom you and has becomeyour adversary?
When Saulinquiredof the LORD,the LORDdid not answerhim, eitherby dreamsorby Urimorby prophets.
Then Sauldisguisedhimself by puttingon otherclothes,and went,he and twomenwith him, and they cameto the womanby night;and he said,"Conjureup for me, please,and bringup for me whomI shall nameto you."
Moreover Davidwas greatlydistressedbecausethe peoplespokeof stoninghim, for allthe peoplewere embittered,eachonebecauseof his sonsand his daughters.But Davidstrengthenedhimself in the LORDhis God.
